Why play games...? Someone should just simply inform this dumb ass that he is most likely breaking the law and doing so knowingly and documented manner.

That listing is in reference to an actual item from the pilot's filming (yes, the real deal)[/b]

How can it possibly be "the real deal" if no pilot has been shot? Where's the beef? :D

Apparently, a pilot has been shot. This other seller just doesn't know up from down.

The guy can't even get his IMDB facts straight: lo and behold, IMDB lists the series as "in production." :rolleyes

Rick McCallum claims there won't be real movement on the series until around 2008. In the absense of other facts I tend to put more faith in him than some random guy on the Internet - especially some random guy without proof. This thread is pretty good evidence of the kind of guys trolling eBay at the moment and it's worth noting that if there really was a pilot then it would be all over Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, even just insider LA gossip. There's been none of that (look at how difficult it was to keep a lid on the prequel films). Nothing on the usual rumor sites. Nothing from licensees. Nothing from anyone who worked on such a production. No IMDB listing for any of the actors. And yet some third party prop maker (which would be news in itself since LFL makes its props in house) apparently has the freedom to spill the beans via an eBay auction? Yeah, right.

On top of this there's no compelling reason to believe Lucasfilm would even bother to shoot a pilot in the first place. All indications are that the series isn't coming out in fall 2007 so already the entire point of a pilot is wasted. Furthermore what network executive is going to pass on a Star Wars TV series anyway? There's no need for a pilot - and in fact McCallum and Lucas have both made statements concerning the intent to make 100 episodes without a broadcaster in place anyway, indicating that a pilot would be irrelevant.

And even if they did make a pilot completely under the radar for a series that's not expected to air for at least two or three more years ... why would they give away their props to be sold on eBay? Wouldn't they need them to actually shoot the series?

To be fair IMDB is a wiki and "in production" can easily be triggered by an ovezealous fan. The "tell" is that there are no details in the listing whatsoever.

It's not a random guy on the internet....as I said, I'm aquainted w/ this individual. He works in the industry, and provided a number of pieces for filming.

If you choose to disregard it, s'fine by me.....I'm just trying to relay a bit of info here.

I gotta get my popcorn and a coke. :p

Seriously tho, claudehaus makes some very valid points. Seems a little fishy...

No need.....I'm not going to debate about it.

I'm just a messenger here. Either way, I've said my bit. ;)
