Hey,

Well I've been quite busy this past month, but I had a little free time lately to mess around with this. Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions. I've uploaded 3 different versions. The first is the accepted ANH paint scheme, while the other two seem to pop up in some shots in both ESB and ROTJ. I have seen some shots from ANH with all grey shoulder bells, but I haven't included that here now. If people let me know their opinions, perhaps we can come up with a final call on all these before I finish out the templates for the new reference disk.

And here is something I threw together just for fun. The angle and scaling isn't quite right, but I thought it looked kind of cool.

Enjoy.

VERY nice :). Do you mind if I include these or their final versions on the Darth Vader Reference DVD? :)

Well that was the idea. Like I said in my earlier post, if we get some comments and input on these things, I can finish them up with all the text etc. just like the helmet ones I did and send them to you for the reference disk. Let's hear your thoughts everybody.

Later,

MJC.

Hey,

Thanks for the comments. I haven't really gotten much input as to what the paint schemes should be for each film, so I've just continued with what I had. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Wow....nicely done... :thumbsup

There's a couple of photos of an ANH promotional suit with armor that is either unpainted or all gunmetal...but I'd consider that more an anomaly and not worth including.

Yeah, I've seen those too, but it could also be attributed to the way it was photographed, because in some behind the scenes photographs of Dave Prowse getting the film suit fitted, the armor also appears just one color - even in the movie does it sometimes appear to be just one color. Whether that is caused by a different chest and shoulder bell armor being used in those scenes or it has to do with lighting and the way it is photographed, is of course open to debate.

Those templates look absolutely cool. Good job, man. :thumbsup

I realize this is an old thread, but instead of starting a new one about the same thing I thought I might as well just revive this old heap.

Profile line drawings finally done.

Drawn from the VP - one of Dano's and one of AnsonJames' pictures. Hope that's okay, guys.

It was the first time I tried the line tool in photoshop and not drawing them by hand first. That line tool sure is nice.

OK, i may be way off base here, but it looks to me as if the tusk tubes on Vader's right are painted gunmetal half way up, almost to match the mouth side piece........or is this just a product of the dome shadow?

The pic is from Jez's site, and i'll remove it if need be.

Thanks

Rich

It's black. The lighting just makes it difficult sometimes. (I take it you are referring to the tusk to the left in the picture, right on the facemask, right?)

It's possible they painted that and other areas grey as well and then decided to make them black again, which accounts for brush marks seen on some of the black surfaces as well, as well as the different color/look black in those areas. Just speculation.
