Vader Costume...

Yeah. The bells tend to tuck in under the armor. I'm going to look for a way to habve them stick out just a touch more. Still, at the moment, I'm just glad that I can move, walk, talk, and yes, drink in that armor.

This is my costume i am 6.2 tall and i am pretty broad shoulderd and large chest.
I have a size 38 waistline. The armor you have is to way to small.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

Well, I'm not wearing a belt in that pic, or anything else. According to the person thaty sold it to me, its Phoenix armor, cast yoff of the hero armor in ESB. I'm 6'6" Looks MUCH better than the teeny set I first got. Regardless, I will keep it, and wear it.

And actually, your armor looks way too big. I'm not sure the armor should be overlapping the chestbox. :p

I am sorry i did not se the last armor photo. It looks allot better with the new armor.
As far as the chestbox... I tighten it to high up. But if you look in the movie you will se that in some scenes the chestbox do in fact run under the armor in some scenes ;) Not that is an exuse thought. But in that photo i bend forward. My advice is to atach the chestbox to the armor and not arround straps arround the body. This way you can avoid it.

I started some threads about attaching shoulder bells and about attaching chestboxes to armor. They seem to have fallen off however. If you ask again Im sure people will chime in and help out.

BTW, the new armor is a HUGE improvement.

Thanks. I'm VERY pleased with it. The shoulders are attatched by two strips of leather bolted to both shoulder and armor. A little short. I think My shoulders aren't quite wide enough. I should be ok with some foam to 'puff' out the shoulders a bit.

As for the smaller set, should be good enough for someone about 6'0" or less. I need to sell it off. Blegh.

Ya big improvement...try putting pads under the shoulder bells...that will help them sit on the shoulders at more of an angle.

Woah those studios shots are something...love the smoke/light effect...cliche to say, but "impressive" :).

Thomas,

What type of pads can you suggest to put under the bells?

The body suit is finally done. Or mostly done. Little things here and there to work on. Its made of leather, with a cotton backing, with cotton batting for the quilting. and it is HOT. Yikes. Also learning that I will be unable to put on the costume by myself. Definately will need someone to help me with it.

It is looking pretty good though. And it will look better with the rest of the outfit. A shame it makes me look fat. I'm not THAT big.

So what do you all think? (Ignore the clutter in the background)

I think it looks very well done.

How much leather did you purchase? Half a hide? What type of garment leather?

Trying to remember. At least two half hides. (The legs used a LOT of leather, and the back of the tunic isn't leather.) Its a high quality THIN leather. I didn't want it to be too heavy.

Wow....she did a nice job. You should see if she can pull in the sides of the mid-section.....taper it a bit so it won't be so loose.

Yeah. We may do that. Or rather, it won't show once the inner cape is done. so no worries there.

Looks nice, is the back of the jacket all leather as well?
[/b]

Nope. Simple cotton and a jersey type material. No reason to have it leather, since no-one would ever see it.

Keep it like that also makes the suit cooler. You'll just have to keep an eye on the cotton material to make sure it does not strech too much over time.

Exactly. We planned it like that from the beginning. Cool is good. Also planning to buy a coolsuit for summer months. I don't want to die of heat exhaustion. :)
