Gino, you probably have difficulty hearing with that huge chip on your shoulder covering your outer ear. This is not some conspiracy, it is the plain fact that you outed someone without any shred of evidence. In your typical fashion, you blew your wad way too early. Now you would rather wallow in your own muck than do clean up work. Maybe you should consider that is it your continuously abrasive style that rubs people the wrong way, not some fabricated story that everyone is out to get you and your "precious" information. :rolleyes I think somewhere Gollum is rolling over in his volcano. :lol

I'm involved in this because the post was in the JY. I will grant you this. If one sells something with a marketable value, it will eventually be copied. Do I ask anyone to accept that ? No. However though you may dismiss the majority of thread commentary on bias, it should strike near home. With all due respect I think you're feeding off a bit of your paranoia.

Only thing I can suggest is selling future items with a guaranteed buy back to guard against resale and selling only to trusted clients.

Did DS recast your stuff with and intend to sell it here? Not unless he is a lunatic or sleeper recaster biding his time for years and now breaking from cover to recast some greeblies.

I suggest you take a deep breath and voluntarily edit the topic of this post before a main forum mod so requests.

Scott would not provide extra buttons that do not match what is already attached. No one would want a box with mismatched buttons.

I'm not assuming you are wrong. And I don't dislike you. Maybe its just all the "RECAST" thread posted every F-in day.. not that they are wrong, but getting facts before shredding someone a new a-hole may help out.

I would not have taken it that way- at least the way it was stated... If I "thought" that they were exact.. I would clarify with the seller before hand before purchase (again, maybe thats just me). Unless it specifically stated "Exactly" like you see in the picture.. I wouldn't assume that. I agree mismatched items wold look goofy, but again.. maybe he has 3-4 sets that do match each other, but don't match the ones attached to the box in the picture. Again, just said i have extra peices I can send (not how many, not exactly what you see here)... to the layman- so to speak, the part may have a slightly different detail, but it serves the same purpose.

You making sure no one is recasting your stuff.. Him, (from what I'm gathering) selling off something he bought and doesn't want anymore...even if it did have "your" pieces attached to something else. But that, not necessarily recasting. Just swapping part.

I don't personally know either of you, so I'm not taking sides.. Just pointing out what my take is.

I don't know all your "history" as prop maker (I just know that every piece you make, became istantly a masterpiece), but I'm not a big fan or an expert of Star Wars, so I don't know the differences between the Vader chestboxes in ANH, ESB and ROTJ, but apparently Dark Shadow is offering generic "silver greeblies" for another version of the chestbox...
Also, the explanation of DS sounds logical to me, I think you are the only one who's thinking that the greeblies he's offerings are yours, he is re-selling your stuff on another chestbox (he clearly said that) and he is offering something more for another kind of box (without pictures, so we don't know exactly what he's offering).
I think you are jealous of your work, and for a good reason (I repeat, I'm not an expert, but apparently you are making super-accurate parts, right?).
But I'm sure Dark Shadow have done nothing wrong here...
BTW I'll change the title of this thread (is a bad publicity for Dark Shadow and for you...)

Im just amazed on how far this has been taken. All I wanted to do is sell a freakin chest box (one of a kind) because I have a chest box I like better. Im sure youve all seen this before. This comes to mind. Remember that big ol' quiet dog who jsut lays around chained to a dog house with a bone in his nearby bowl. Once you step one foot into the area his chain will allow, hes all foaming at the mouth, barking and snarling at you. RING A BELL?

When someone thinks so much of themselves that they don't care about anyone else, or act like they have to be civilised when dealing with others, I don't know how else to put it. There are a handful of people (within the prop hobby, here and elsewhere) who are decidely unpleasant, and rarely seem to contribute anything to the hobby for any other reason than to have their egos fed. I don't feel like what I said was over the top, but I suppose I was being just as harsh. Maybe in time I can become wise enough to hoard info, constantly bait people, be condecending, and go on voracious public attacks against people who I believe to have done me wrong, simply because I took a written comment out of context. :rolleyes

I don't usually get involved in board politics but I just wanted to mention that I've dealt with DS in the past and he's a very stand up guy. He doesn't know it but I acquired my very first replica off of him so I was really shocked when I saw the original title to this thread - I'm glad Gino decided to edit it.

We've heard both parties, and frankly I'm satisfied with DS's explanation and Gino's lack of evidence short of "I just know it." There's no reason to let this hole be dug deeper.
