Hi all,
I have a vintage MPP flashgun and I 'm thinking about this vader saber variation for a full reveal fx saber.
After looking closer at the replicas and real mpp variations,I have seen the "chrome look" bars are probably just standart reversed bars. What do you think about it?
Will take shots later to illustrate my purpose.
I have other questions,I bought a heiland too, with what semms to be a resin kit, including a good shroud, and I would try to find other like this for a possible fx vader run based from parks replicas.

I have a heiland as well that I think is the wrong type to even mimic the mpp... the holes on the side near the "shroud" are squares, not ovals. shroud looks alright though. I've been thinking of just buying a kit from Blastech and going that route... but I dunno.

What are you thinking with your heiland... I'm assuming you have the "correct" one...

I actually have 3 vaders:
-one real MPP,correct shroud
-one parks(not mine)"correct shroud" but not very accurate, other parts are good, displayed together, quite similar.
-last one is the Heiland, with a "correct" replica shroud.

The shroud on the heiland is a resin ,good aspect, will switch to put on the parks, and keep the parks shroud for me,to make experiences.

The holes are correct type, but the heiland is shorter, has "heiland" engraving, wrong pommel and wrong button on top(only one instead of 2,like MPP)
I will try to reduce the parks shroud thickness on lathe and make new painting for a 100% accurate look,if it works, and if I can do it quickly I would try to offer this service for other vader enthusiasts.
Would make a vader reveal run here in France,so I would make best compromise between price, availability and quality.

It's possible to upgrade a existing force fx vader, using a parks clamp, and removing the sleeve,it brings a far better look.
We made some tests with a friend who had a fx vader.
I replaced the clamp, and used a JQ saber blade holder, higly modified with the front part of a parks bulb holder.
Now it has the chrome look round and the spring, and of course the black center.
However it's lots of work to do it.
It's valuable only if you already have the fx saber.
No way to buy one to modify, too expensive,if you want to include the clamp, new front and blade holder...

Here is the first step:

Removed the brand and made a black button to replace the white one

Here is a standart conversion on mr fx saber on left and a modified conversion using parks front of bulb holder on right:

After lots of time,I finally get some news, new MPP saber, and some researches.

Thee was something I didn't understand,I read about straigt and tapered clamps, seems the ESB version would have "straight" bars, however I didn't understand how a straight br would match the shape of a tapered clamp ring,so I was supposing there was a straight clamp ring existing somewhere....
It's not easy to understand this, just by reading...
Finally,I get the answer.

There is no straight clamp ring anywhere,just...tapered bars, that match the clamp ring shape.
And ESB version,as "ROTJ" version are just a tapered bars mpp flashgun.
Would mean the ANH V2 looks more like a straight version.

The top flashguns are two real MPP,each has different clamp version:

And,after looking at original props photos or screenshots,it seems evident to me:

Tapered

Straight
I think the other ANH version has straight bars too, just reversed, showing natural aluminum color.
tapered bars ae plain black on both sides.

Very cool man!

I have the straight bars version but mine are black on both sides.

Ha... Where do you even find MPP flashes? I have been watching Ebay since I got into the prop world, and I've never seen one.

To be fair, I don't know if I love the vader saber enough to pay what I'm guessing they may go for...
