Hey Guys,

Ive just made a 600mm x 600mm vacuum forming machine, suction is great but im wondering if my resined pepped iron man armor will be strong enough for a sheet of 3mm thick plastic. Im not keen on the bondo as it takes ages.

If anyone has seen a thread that is similar could you send me the link..

Cheers

David

And the resin may or may not be happy with the heat either,
but not 100% sure on that. 3mm is real thick and the
thicker the styrene the longer it holds the heat, so while
your waiting with the vacuum running it could do some
damage to the resin........? Post some pics of the armor
would love to see.

It would be best to make a mold using brush on silicone, create a jacket mold and once that is done, you can use the mold to make a hyrdostone buck by pouring it in the mold.

You can also back fill the thinner resin coated buck to make it solid...
