In preparation for building this beast I've been watching the twelve part YT series by Trekworks, and towards the end of the series he installs the domes on the top and bottom of the saucer, but it's pretty obvious he's painted them first with some sort of white. Is there a special trick to painting clear plastic so it becomes a translucent white?

You could also try sanding the inner surface with fine grit

If Boyd was building the initial release of the kit, it came with the clear parts also molded in translucent white and black.
I liked the white parts for some things. Mainly the four rectangles on top of the saucer, circles on the bow and the saucer domes.
I was fortunate to get an extra set of the white parts from another RPF member.
BTW... Should anyone else have these parts available, I would love to pick them up.
