The article mentions that Cap does start out in the spandex suit (and WW2 shield) when he is relegated to USO duties. He throws on a leather jacket when he starts to actually participate in battles, and eventually turns to Howard Stark to make him the finished suit we see in these photos.

Cool. That's would explain the wooden shield then. It was just for a stage show!

And it looks like he shielded himself from a monkey poo flinging fight with his shield.

So Ironic to this day the "All American is Blond hair Blue eye's." :angel
But seriously the pictures give a slight hope the film wont be horrid. I have higher hope for this then I do for Thor.:sick

Looking closely at this Photo of Steve Rogers you can see the White Sleeves from the Original Captain America Suit, I wonder IF they are going to have the Swashbuckler Boots and Red Gloves to go with it?

Also is he going to have a Mask or the Helmet like in the Comics?
(Yes I've already seen the costume he will wear later on, I'm just wondering how close the 1940's Cap Costume will be)

In this Photo you can clearly see the Embroidered Star on his Chest under the Jacket...

The 1940's Captain America I know...
