UPDATE WITH PIC/VIDEO! Was That 70s Show: Red Forman wearing The Rocketeer jetpack?

In That 70s Show episode "Cat Fight Club" (aired May 15, 2000), Red has a daydream to the future (1997). Servatron 2000 (Fez, dressed up like an android) places a jetpack on Red, who blasts off to go to a meeting on Saturn. I did a double take when I got a glimpse of the jetpack - I could swear it was the Rocketeer's (or a close fascimile).

Anyone have any info on this? I cannot find any pics online :angry

Here's the best pic I could find. Looks like it could be the Rocketeer pack, with black handles and silver shoulder straps (similar, although not the same as King of Queens) :love

I remember that episode vaguely, but I do not think it was the rocketeer jetpack.

But in the show King of Queens, Doug Hefferman wears the rocketeer pack.

I remember that episode vaguely, but I do not think it was the rocketeer jetpack.

But in the show King of Queens, Doug Hefferman wears the rocketeer pack.

Blewis great job!!! It is the rocketeer pack. If you look closely they repainted the pack and the handles. Plus they change the straps to match the futuristic look

I never noticed it before. Great Catch.

I searched for it earlier on youtube but couldnt find the video. I noticed what I did wrong. I entered in the wrong episode number

The clincher was when I saw the thrust fins at the bottom dangling. Are they supposed to dangle?

The Disney warehouse had a couple of rocketpacks that were available for other productions to rent. I don't believe it was uncommon for people to sometimes modify the props they rented. One of the rocketpacks had this big fat red button installed on the side of it which of course we started always referring to as the "red button pack". I believe most of those rocketpacks that were used for rental purposes eventually made it out by way of Disney auctions and what-not. Rocketbob was the expert on that stuff...

And of course, there are at least a couple of rocketpacks still on the prop warehouse backlot tour in Orlando along with a couple of stunt helmets.

I have no idea if those packs were screen-used or if they were extras made by the Disney prop department.
