Check this out (apologies if posted before):

From Adam Ross (Legacy Effects)

"This is the costume that I modeled for The Wolverine. It was unused in the final cut of the film. Everything in the box is digitally modeled and 3d printed. There is no cloth or leather used in these parts, but rather texturing added in ZBrush. (Photo shown with permission)"

Seeing this is painful, because I've distanced myself entirely from Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine, which I do not like one bit. I still wish to this day that Russell Crowe would take on the role, which was originally supposed to be his. He looks exactly like Wolverine; his neutral expression is a very serious one; he can look angry and menacing without trying; and his stature is much closer to Wolverine than Hugh Jackman's is.

Hugh jack and the new wolverine movies make the character such a clown. I want the mean, funny, bad *** Logan, none of this sweet n loving guy. if you go back about 15 years the man for the job was Danzig. He was trying to make a movie and play him for years.

Huge fan of Hugh jack portraying the Wolverine. I can actually watch it now!

This is extremely cool prop btw!

I've been a wolverine fan for years, since about Wolverine #12 came out. Though I agree that Jackman is way too tall, I think he plays it as well as he can. Remember, the actors don't write the script.

The main problem I have with Jackman is that he doesn't come off menacing at all. His face just doesn't convince me. He looks too much like a sweet, pointy-faced man trying to look mean. Also, when he does the 1-eyebrow thing, it makes him look like a snobby diva, rather than a grim, seasoned warrior who's seen a lot of s#it. It just doesn't work. The morphology of his face is wrong for the character. His height is the second problem.

^Whinny fanboys will never be pleased.

Thanks for just scoffing at everything I said. I could say naive fanboys are always pleased with everything, but that would be ignorant and unfair.
But you're wrong. I am a fan of plenty of interpretations of pre-existing characters. I really like Henry Cavill as Superman. I really like Toby Maguire as Spiderman. I like Michael Keaton as Batman. I like Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier. I like Anna Paquin as Rogue. I like Liev Shreiber as Sabertooth. I love Michael Fassbender as Magneto. I love Alfredo Molina as Doc Ock. I love J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. I love Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. I like the majority of the cast of Watchmen. I love Wesley Snipes as Blade. I love Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman.

Your comment is ill informed and entirely unfounded.

What!!! No love for Arnold as Mr Freeze?? And you dare to call yourself a fanboy.....
Jk :p

I was pump to hear that Defoe was the Green Goblin...until I saw how bad they wrote the part in the movie. Total waste of a great actor and character.

I'm with ya, jackman is too nice and some what sparkly for Logan. I do t know if russel would have been any better. His ego is too big at times for full cast movie.

I wanted Harvey Keitel as Wolvie before X1 came out. Hahaha...
It sounds ridiculous now.

That said, this cowl looks great and I too would have loved to see it used.
I don't accept Jackman's Wolverine only because he doesn't wear the cowl.

THIS. COWL. WOULD. MAKE. ABSOLUTELY. NO. SENSE. IN. THIS. MOVIE. I don't get it with you guys. Do you know what the purpose of a mask is? It would have looked good in something cartoony like the Avengers but this is utterly ridic looking. It would have made the movie worse.

Originally, Wolverine wore the mask as part of his wrestling costume. He did it for money. Same concept as Spiderman's costume.

IMHO Jackman did a fare job, that said the last movie was horrible!

My favorite moments in the X-men movie franchise so far are:
1. When Wolverine walks up to Phoenix as she's destroying everything, and kills her.
2. When Magneto tries to drag Shaw's submarine out of the water, and is so emotionally invested that he's willing to drown.
3. When Magneto uses the memory of his mother to push the satellite dish.

Those kinds of moments are what define X-men in the comics for me. The movies are too pillowy and careful.

I love this cowl. nice seeing it done via a prop maker for a film related purposed. too bad we don't see it on film. does the yellow suit make an appearance in the new X men film?

Fail.
This cowl is awesome and if written properly would have worked just fine.

Using a mask from now on wouldn't make any sense to me, in the context of the franchise.
I see these masks like Batman / Bruce Wayne always said: "I do not wear the mask to protect myself, but to protect those I love."

After all these years Wolverine walked around without a mask, and after loosing those he loved: why should he wear a mask now?

But don't get me wrong: these props look ***** awesome! Would love to have this mask :D
