United Cutlery Samwise Museum Sword

I want one of these too!

Would these be the swords they were supposed to get out of the Barrow in the book?

The ones Tom would have given them? If so, then Sam uses this sword on the Witch King as well.

the new Museum Collection stuff is all going to be stainless steel, from what Kit was telling me. Just better finishing, more weathered look to them.

Glad to see they are finally going to do this one, we had all this stuff ready when the original UC went down.

Pretty said typo on that selling sheet, and they have gotten lazy to not even bother digging out a shot of sam with the sword.

Just tried to read up a bit more on this sword, from the Weapons and Warfare book.

The only bit of info on this sword in the book is:

The blade that Aragorn provided Samwise, has the same leaf shape as Frodo's sword sting, suggesting that it was of Numenorean ancestry.

Thats it i'm afraid!!

Frodo and Sam are a pair. If you have the Museum Sting, you have to display it with the Museum Sam sword. And with 3,000 Museum Sting's, and only 600 Museum Sam swords, I think they will be in short supply. Which is why I ordered mine early. I got it for only $225 with shipping. Not bad for a Lord of the Rings item that is soooo limited.

No, in the book, that is Merry. The film has some more "Girl Power": Eowyn picks up Merry's sword to kill the Witch King.
Sam is over in Mordor, remember. ;)

Btw. In my book, a stainless blade on a LE plaque is not any real "Museum Collection" sword.

Agreed. The previous museum collection blades were made from high carbon spring steel. The "new" museum collection blades are being made from just a slightly different grade of stainless steal than is used in the "regular" blades.

And these are made in CHINA, the original Museum Collection Blades were made in Spain by Marto for UC.
