Check it out!! They will be coming out in September. The museum collection is limited to only 600.

So the weathered one is more screen accurate right? The clean one is nice still, but couldn't they have made an acid etched non-museum sword too?

Much prefer the weathered museum version, the clean normal version just looks too darn new!!!

I agree. The non weathered one looks too new. The museum ones will sell out really fast. They made 3,000 of the Museum Stings, and that's only 1 Museum Sam sword for every 5 Museum Sting's.

do we know what these are gonna cost? I want the museum one, but if it costs what the museum sting did, theres no chance :(

ahm stupid question: What about the sword?

I mean, what kind of sword is it and what got it to do with LOTR?

It's a sword from the film trilogy, from one of the nine members of the fellowship. It will eventualy be as important as the UC Strider sword (which wasn't in the books), or more important since it will be extremely limited.

I don't understand why they use a pic of Sam weilding Sting to sell this. That makes no sense to me.

It's been a while but.... the only difference from the regular releases is the Museum swords are carbon steel as opposed to stainless, isn't that right?

I should really know this seeing as I have the Museum Sting and Glamdring squirreled away somewhere but I've managed to forget most of the details over the years :-/

The museum collection stats on the graphic in the first post state that the blade is 420 stainless steel, not high carbon spring steel like the other two MC swords (Sting and Glamdring). :confused

Also, in this case they are making the MC version weathered and the unlimited version clean.

For reference, here are a couple of pictures of the actual props.

There was a website that was selling the "nice shiny daggers" that the hobbits got in the extended Fellowship DVD. I can't remember where I saw them. I think they where around $40, not UC but they where nice.

Where can I see it in the movie? The reference picture is a little bit strange, because after all its Sting, isn't it?

Watch the fellowship, the Weathertop sequence.

Strider (aragorn) gives each of the Hobbits a sword, which they then draw when the ringraiths attack not 2 mins later.
I think that that this is the only time Sam uses the sword....

Wait he used it in Moria, as well as a frying pan!!!

He tries to use it on Faramir too.

Here is one Weathertop photo.
