Ultimate National Treasure Book of Secrets research

I believe "recasterating" in the post's context was an intentional malaprop (acyrologia) which I thought was funny. In any event, I have done business and communicated with both of you (Juno and Mars) and am amazed at all the talent that exists between the two of you. You both are honorable people, IMHO.

From my standpoint, I could not afford a $5000.00 or $1000.00 replica of the BOS. Just reading Juno's tutorial is an education. She says she is not doing a run, so I am not looking to buy her finished product. For me, reading about the research and techniques used in the production of a replica is pretty cool in itself. I've personally never seen a leather stamp or how it is used in a standard hydraulic press to emboss leather.

In the immortal words of Rodney King, "...c-c-c-c-can't we all j-j-j-just git along?" The bickering, nitpicking, sniping, subtle backhanded compliments, etc. serve no purpose other than personal venting. From what I see, there is/was a $5k reproduction, a $1k replica and a BOS replica in progress (Juno's) that is not intended as a run for sale. I don't see either of the three as threatening sales of any of the others.

Just my unsolicited two cents. P-p-p-peace out. :cool

Guys (and gals), I understand emotions can run high when it comes to critiquing the work of other artists, especially when the person doing the critiquing is providing a competing product. However, lets keep the focus of the discussion on the props and not on the personalities. Adding personal insults weakens your argument and makes it appear that you have to resort to attacking the person on trivial issues because you don't have firm enough arguments for the true topic. Stay on target and off personal mudslinging.

How many times do I have to say I AM NOT SELLING THESE before people understand that I AM NOT SELLING THESE?

Juno...lol You will no doubt recieve the normal amount of "can I trade or buy" pm's even though you might say "no'" a million times in this thread;) Especially if your work is nifty which going by the seal it is.

I hadn't been following this thread since my last post but I have to say I simply love the way the whole stamp method worked. Looks very nice. Well done.

I do appoligise if I sounded a little too reactionary to your comments. They did seem overly critical and I worked really hard on the entries and it was my baby lol So happy to let it rest...no hard feelings.

Kramstaar was right though. MPPC had a problem with my IP address...maybe it's just us guys from Australia?

Moving on...What sort of topics have you covered in your entries? Love to see some if you care to share here. I think the only one I actually posted publically was Regan's Titanic entry.

We tried to go with everything mentioned in the films, special features and articles as well as a few humorous ones ie The A- team, Indiana Jones etc etc

Regards
TAZ

Juno,
Can people here contribute fun stuff to add to their BOS or do you want to keep this as strict reasearch on screen accurate material??????

I say contribute it all -- I'll be updating my post regularly as I get more info.

I also want to make it clear that my research isn't intended to belittle or besmirch the other two prominent replicas that are out there. 90% of the folks out there couldn't even begin to PLAN a replica of this magnitude, let alone execute it. I've edited my original post to hopefully eliminate any negativity.

I'm not going to stop comparing them, but I want to make it clear that pointing out an inaccuracy or what I would do differently does not mean that a replica sucks. My Hogwarts tickets went through tons of critiques before I was remotely ready to release them AND THEY'RE STILL INACCURATE. (But they don't suck.)

I'm happy that there are still people here that create things and it is my sincerest hope that my research thread encourages other people to create.

I've been away for awhile,so I'm just coming across this thread. The Hero BOS does have an embossed stamp. Juno's stamp is virtually identical to Ross M, I compared it to mine which came Ross as well.:thumbsup

Where the hell have you been??? :lol Glad to see you back.

I remember viewing this thread in 2010, and loving the research done here. I came back to this so I can view the link, but it won't work anymore! Is there a way for me to view the research juno has posted awhile back??
