I've only ever strengthened props using fiberglass/resin and was wondering, could i create the rondo using davids fastglass resin and whatever the davids bodyfiller is called?
might be a daft question, but i don't wanna be mixing the two and then having my face melt off :p
Thanks in advance ^^

bondo makes a fibre reinforced bondo that gets rock hard ....i use that alot on my predator stuff

I'm in the UK, and I use "ISOPON P38" for my bondo.

Have had no problems (in fact I did some last night) using it with the Resin I use (EpoxAmite 101), to make Rondo.

My face remains totally un-melted.

EDIT: I'm sure you know what you are doing, but in case there are any people new to this stuff, the 'bondo' stuff is very noxious. Please wear a decent face mask with good filters when using it.

bondo = body filler (p38)

rondo = body filler + resin mixed together (hence the 'r')

you can get a couple of different types but just read what type of product it is and if they match then you're fine (i.e. both polyester based)

What sort of ratios are we talking about? this sounds very interesting!

Mix them until the consistency looks right to you, more resin for a runnier 'rondo'. There is no incorrect ratio, just remember to add both catalysts or it wont set up properly.

Flints Theatrical Chandlers sell P40 - which is a fiberglass filler, has strands pre mixed in and can be smoothed over with acetone whilst curing.

Is great and incredibly strong for what it is - even makes a last min mould jacket if your in a squeeze

question. we don't get bondo where i am so i use a type of auto body filler. if i mix that with epoxy resin, will that be somewhat like rondo or a huge mistake? working on a helmet right now and fiberglassing was a massive pain so i want to avoid that in the future if i can. Also, would the resultant mix be stronger if i add some fiberglass mat?

thanks in advance :)
