tumbler at night

I can't think of a more incredible prop replica than that...I'm still in complete awe that you built that yourself....

One Word, Stunning! That thing is awesome! Please bring it to Kentucky. The Louisville Zoo would love to have that at thier World's Largest Halloween Party.

Absolutely astonishing! I think you win the prize... if there was a prize :)

Just out of curiosity, what is the interior like? I am guessing it is pretty spartan much like the actual car.

As I understand there were 3 tumblers. One for street driving, one for jumps, and one static with lifting top and finished interior

Take some more pics! I am sure we would all love to see it during the day and from every angle.

much thanks all. here are some inner details:

V-8 350 HO deluxe.
TCI Turbo 350 sizzler, torque converter(standard)
hedman headers.
stock radiator, trans cooler.
I used the lower air intakes to provide air to the radiator on one side, trans cooler on the other.
B+M shifter.
8 gal fuel cell, hooked up to one of the gas caps, eventually each gas cap will have it's own fuel cell.
lights are pias, go on and off in pairs.
dually adapters: scratch.
front and rear sus. scratch.
rack and pinion: sweet mfg. here in town. I placed the rack so it can't be seen from the outside or the inside.
I used bilstein shocks. not fox.

I'm pretty sure I have more passenger space than the originals. decent leg room.

still working on the sway bar.
interior still a work in progress. whole car will be a work in progress for quite a while

I dont know what is more amazing. The fact that it is so freaking cool, or the fact that you made it in your garage.

Outstanding work.

I agree. :eek

If you don't mind me asking, about how much money have you put into it?

I have to agree with what everyone else has said, one of the most amazing things ive ever seen :)

much thanks to ya all.

What's it like to build this thing by yourself:

I had 0.0 help. nada.
it is a massive project. exillerating at times, and at times, it feels like you are carrying a mountain on your shoulders. feels endless, but each time you get to some new plateau, it's like standing a portion of the way up Mt. everest, and looking out. You think about how far you've come, not how far you have to go.
The main goal this summer is to drive it. I'm close to firing it up, but there are some things I wanna get out of the way, like the sway bar. The sway bar keeps it from rocking back and forth. Evens out the handling. very important part.

The reaction almost unanimously/globaly, has been postive. Someone here locally said last summer they heard the guys on the Bob and Tom show making cracks about "what kind of a guy would build this thing". But all over the internet, positive vibes. That's a thrill.

How much did it cost? I have no idea. Time-wise. tons. you pull rabbits out of a hat on a daly basis. You don't know how to do something, you learn how to do it. And you only have one shot to get it right. The whole thing is like going to prop/car survival camp. Failure not an option. once you get to a certain point, there is no turning back, or you lose everything up to that point, and you cannot screw much up. You also have to have faith that through many stages, you are going in the right direction, in that when you reach a certain point, it's all gona be good. For example: getting everything perfectly centered. Getting a batsuit perfectly centered is one thing. Getting a 15' long, 9.5' wide car with zillions of wacky surface changes centered is quite another thing - BY YOURSELF. It is insane. Also takes a fair amount of being in phyical shape. Steel. Heavy. mounting 4 44" superswampers on a 5 bolt pattern with a 3.5" shaft in the middle. a B....ch..

Also:
I am gona deepen the body paint. I want it a little more deeper black.
As soon as I do fire it up there will be tons of videos. everywhere.

Hand building something like that is an amazing feat, nobody can deny that. There are always the people that dont understand what it is like to create a work of art in any form, let alone a full functioning automobile. Keep up the incredible work, I look forward to the vids.
