Trying to remember handheld devices

I've been trying to recall movies or television where they portrayed a handheld device with either a retractable or a rollup screen. Red Planet had something like this very large but I know there have been others. I seem to remember one that's smaller... candy bar sized perhaps and metal where the two halves pull apart revealing a screen in between. Anyone have any ides on other portrayals of small handheld futuristic screens like this?
