Who's goin? :cool

I'm headed to the pinnacle in knoxville in just a minute! Any other RPFers going tonight?

I just have to know... Is it as great as the trailers make it out to be? I remember thinking TPM looked great in the trailers too... :rolleyes

So I guess I'm going to find out what the feel of the movie really is... What the fans want? Or another cash in, made for this gen crapfest? :unsure

Here's to hoping!

Full report tonight! :)

I was coming out of the here called "Tron Day" from Cologne Cinedom. I was dissapointed by the only few visitors (about 30-40) for this special day. I guess the marketing here in germany was bad. It was shown in the 3D theater section in original english, not the dubbed german version, which is unusual for a german theater, where most movies are dubbed.

But I was not disappointed of Tron Legacy - sure, most scenes are already shown in the trailers, somewhat longer, but there were also new scenes that made more appetite for the sequel, that's for sure! I found it better to show the known ones in 3D, than giving too much away ending up being too disappointed by the own expectations.

This was the first time I had 3D glasses on, looked terrific and very well executed!

Quorra was a very special program, she didn't seem to be a static program like the sirens, she was more like a user, maybe she learnt that from Flynn over the years!

Met NickyTea at the screening here in Tampa. It was absolutely awesome!! There was a glitch in the middle of the screening where Sam was getting fitted with armor by the Sirens...that pissed me off, but fortunately I already seen the footage (albeit in bootleg form) before so it wasn't too distracting.

Everything was great. It was perfect. I cannot wait to go the midnight showing in December.

I agree 100% with your assesment of what was shown. I was glad they didn't show TOO much.

I wish they wouldn't have shown Sam reuniting with Kevin to be honest with you. This scene was great albeit a bit confusing seeing as they didn't explain Kevins awkward distance in his eyes as he walked away. But his acting was awesome even in just his expressions as he looked out upon the grid in the distance. Like he was remembering what he had to do or something.

Dear God I am WAY more psyched now than I was when I started the thread!

This movie really feels as though it is catered to the old fans. It's just 20 human years/1000 grid years in the future.

I'm sure there will be haters... but I am loving it so far.

(I was dissapointed they had NOTHING for the flynnlives.com members.)

Sent you a PM about the poster and card. they'll go good with the toys now that i'm going to get them lol.

i just got back myself, from minneapolis st. paul... they had wristbands for 250 seats... i think only about 60 or so people showed up... only one other party with a tron badge... Marketing people took my picture holding my badge up as i was the first to show up with one...

i was a bit disappointed with the small turnout. as well as the slow paced intro and 2d rehash scene...

but when the recognizers were cruising through the city, i got completely psyched.

After the sirens were peeling sams clothes off, i was disappointed that the siren's 'this ones different' line wasn't delivered 7 seconds earlier... i think it would have been hilarious to hear her say that line right after she zaps his underwear off...

- lets hope they re-edit that scene :)

end of line...

I thought the footage looked amazing!

Eagerly looking forward to December to see the entire film. :):thumbsup

I saw the preview and really enjoyed it. I can't wait to see the movie! They forgot to give us the 3d glasses, until I asked one of the Disney employees working the event. They were also filming folks as they left the theater to get their reaction to the preview. I loved how they recreated Kevin's room above the arcade. They even had the hand held game he was playing from the original movie.

Man I am psyched about this movie.

I was worried the disc game might be altered too much from the original but the new version was AWESOME. Glad to see the disc to disc sheild/deflect was back. It wasn't in any of the trailers. Fast and intense.

Anyone else notice the guy Sam was fighting was the same as the figure from his room in trailer#2? He even said, "I have an old action figure of you!" Right before they started the match.
