Sorry it's been a while.
The control boxes are now completely done. That bottom part turned out to be far far far more troublesome than anticipated. He finally finished them up the other day, and is milling in an adjustment to the metal middle because the top was sitting off by 1/32 of an inch. Everything now lines up beautifully.

Gotta be getting close now. Just the black part that goes under the silver knob and the bent wire "u-ring" right?

Yeah, all that's left is the black "bulb release" bit which is being programmed as we speak, the little aluminum button that goes inside it, the wire loop (which the wire factory is working up the contract for right now), and then cutting the excess metal off the hollow, electronic compatible cores.
The machinist just finished making 25 more shrouds because he realized when he was counting, he counted a box twice, so we were short. :/
I have no idea why he has so many other ones laid out. I find its sometimes easier on my brain to just not ask him certain things. lol

Also, I have an irregular shroud if anyone wants it for a custom saber. The notch in the back for the "bulb release" was cut too wide. The angle on the front has not been sawed off yet, so you could cut/dremel/mill any shape onto it. The threaded holes for the knobs are present, as well as the small holes for the wire loop. Asking $40 shipped

About a week after they're finished and paid for. I can tell you the date guesstimate the machinist gave me, but he has yet to meet a single date he's given me :angry so for now, I'll say there's a good chance these could ship in time for Christmas. Could be a few weeks earlier, could be a few weeks later, but barring any catastrophes, they should be shipping around that time frame I think.

Here's the first test mill of the "bulb release." The radius has not been milled into the bottom, as he's still waiting for a custom tool to be made for him to do that, and for some reason, most of the bottom of the front got chopped off, there you're gonna see a HUGE Grand Canyon of a gap in these pics, but all will be corrected in the next day or two. Being only a three axis milling machine, sometimes even if the measurements are programmed in correctly, the machine will still cut wrong because it physically cant reach the angle you need with the way the piece is currently clamped in. Takes some creative thinking and reprogramming.
At any rate, the corrected and accurate versions of these should all be finished next week, then he's gonna do the little button that goes inside this part. For those of you adding electronics, I engineered it in such a way that if you grind down the bottom of the button a few millimeters, you SHOULD be able to mount a tactile switch under it.
