Trek XI: Anyone making a replica of this cop helmet?

I reckon everybody's a citizen of somewhere.

And I think at that point in the future history, at least theoretically, we were/are supposed to be a unified world gubmint.

Thx for these screen caps!!! this explains a lot, are these the only angles that are seen in the movie or are there more? If anyone has more tech info on the design of this helmet that would be great, I think this is my next project (wanted to start on a 2005 dalek but will try this first hehe), Just gotta get some modeling clay then Im into it ;)

Yeah thats all you see.

I've flipped through channels and ran across some series that had something similar, not exact, but with the flying motorcycle and all, very Power Ranger in appearance and cheese factor.

Yup. I get the Power Ranger vibe as well.

I thought the movements were very human, especially when young Kirk went off the main road (as seen in the screen-caps above). The double-take by the Officer was very non-android.

Also, is there any signifcance of 924? Just wondering.

924 is an eighties cheap Porsche. Either someone had one, or it's a nod to Lucas using 327 here and there.

Then you have the flying motorbike like Galactica 1980.

And Human or Android, like Blade Runner.

Can you show me one Power Ranger that looks anything close to this mask design, because I'm assuming the Power Ranger analogy is being used to classify the Trek cop mask as something inferior. :thumbsdown

someone posed in OT a link to a list of facts about JJ Trek...said 924 was the service number of RoboCop (get it?).

Now THAT´s a nice one !

What put me off the "human"-trail was how tight the "mask" is and how uncomfortable it must be, no room to move the jaw for speaking for example. And the double shielding of the eyes through the shield and then another optical system seemed a bit over the top.

Robocop and the citizen reference definitely go well together !

This is the link in the OT thread, although the article goes on to say......

" The police officer Kirk encounters has the number "924" stamped on his robot-like mask (possibly a badge number). TrekMovie.com has popularized the claim that "924" is the model number of the character Robocop. This is not true. Robocop's model number was OCP-001 (thanks to Doug Ecks for pointing that out)."

I'm not an expert on Robocop, but the resemblance is uncanny.:lol
