Trek XI: Anyone making a replica of this cop helmet?

It reminded me of the robot-cops from THX 1138, chasing THX on their cafe racers.

The dude was wearing a complete uniform, down to boots. I really doubt he was an android, and the thought of him being one never even occurred to me until you guys brought it up. Why would an android need air filters?

The cop has a really strong THX-1138 vibe to 'em, for sure.

Android / Human ... based on information on hand, it could go either way.

Android: Never seemed particularly 'emotional' when speaking, always began with saying, "Citizen...", no one else shown wearing helmets/masks of similar type, strong THX connotation.

Human: Full body suit, never see any overt 'mechanics', what looks like air filters on the mask.

I thought it was kinda weird for the mask to have a pulldown visor. It looked cool, but if you're already wearing a mask do you really need a visor too? :lol

I'd love to see someone make this!

I thought it was just a guy with a helmet myself, being very...oddly....professional. Citizen.

And yet in TNG they were astounded when they found an android with a positronic brain, but apparently they had something similar on Earth hundreds of years prior to that?

Reboot and different time line might be the reason they scrapped that.

But yeah, the fuss they made about data and a previous "ban" of robots and androids did seem to get contradicted by this movie. But what the heck, if it fits the cause ;)

I always thought that it was a robot, the helmet just looks too tight and uncomfortable, but then again a Judge Dredd-like law enforcement officer would have been cool as well ;)

What an odd tangent. I'm with you guys who thought this was a human, too. Android never crossed my mind.

Jodo, I love your observation. I've been "on the job" for about 16 years and I can say without hesitation that I've never addressed anyone as "Citizen." :lol

I think you should start calling people citizen then. :lol

I guess we have to wait for the toys r something to cumout in order to get an idea of what this looks like from all sides for construction...hmmm

Well I have a few of the parts for this piece on hand. Figured them out after having taken a trip to Target.

Will be making something fairly soon, just am compiling data on this.

Those things on the cheeks could be anything. Filters, gyroscopes, pollution samplers.

But on the other hand the visor seems like a human thing to have. Ever see a robot with shades? Oh yeah, the Terminator.

What does it/he call foreigners? Non Citizen?
