Transformers Generation 1 box sets comning out

The complete US series is coming out May 24th with the japanese Headmaster series being released July 5th. Also on May 23rd there is the ultimate guide to Transformers collectibles coming out.

Seeing as I just picked up Transformers: The Movie for a quarter at a garage sale earlier today, this is a most fortuitous announcement. After watching it twice, I got the fever like I haven't had since I got crushed by the second Bay film.

I remember getting the movie back in 86 for 5.00. I got galvatron on new years eve, inside it had a movie poster that glowed in the dark and a certificate for a vhs tape of the movie. Even though it ended new years eve we sent it in anyhow. I swear I wore that tape out lol. I remember i nearly wore out the one from the movie rental place too before i got my own copy. This set isn't as fancy as the big Matrix edition but you get 1 less dvd and such but this set is 40.00 cheaper too. I preordered this, headmasters, and the book for about 100.00.

I got a G1 set a couple years ago, so I have to ask.. have any of you seen the show recently? Not the film, but the original series? I had looked back on it fondly because the only memory I had of the show was as a child, so of course it was wonderful. Watching the show as an adult.. not so much. It really isn't very good, to be honest.

Which cracks me up about the recent films.. as "horrible" as they are, I find them much more entertaining than the original series, which I'll probably never watch again.

I watch it on the HUB network at night right before the original G1 joe. Personally I loved the GI joe Resolute how they continued the 80s franchise in a more adult way and would love to see Transformers done that way. The cartoon is pretty cheesy but I grew up loving it and the toys so I don't mind it. though what gets on my nerves is the gltiches when you have the wrong voice for a robot and such. I watch the 86 movie all the time.

Naw those are the ones from the time the movie got put back out in 2007. YOu had to buy those seasons individually and they split season 2 into 2 boxes.

the entire series at once. it's basically everything in teh 100.00 matrix edition minus a few small items and an interview dvd.

I bought em individually, forgot to get season 2 vol. 2 and went straight to season 3&4. Cant seem to find 2.2 anywhere locally. Thanks for info

Did you try ebay and amazon? Sometimes walmart has them too. I was just about to start getting them when i saw this collection and figured I'd go the cheap way lol. I'm blaring the movie soundtrack as i type this, I don't care what kids these days say but hair bands are still better than any new bands they have.

Except for his bad version of "The Touch" that he put out a while back that sounds modern and had rap in it. It was so bad that the horrid cheap trick theme was put on the Revenge of the Fallen's cd instead.
