Impressive! Who makes all this stuff!?
Prisoner 655321, that's cool that you made it too the show. I saw a post of yours elsewhere with the Black Peal in the background. VERY cool! I'm in SoCal, a short, fun, 4-hour blast to Vegas, and didn't even know of the show. Kicking myself... Are you local to LV?
Hi PH!
No, sorry - I'm not local to you - just came for the show as a company perk and heading back tomorrow. At the time, it didn't occur to me to ask anyone who built the maquette, but I noticed that the California vanity plate on his chest says: "FXPERTS", so I Googled them and was rewarded with this:

The replica was set up on the a$$-side of the Blu-Ray pavilion where South Hall 1 & 2 meet at the Las Vegas Convention Center. They were showing clips of Blu-Ray HD content from Transformers, 300, Cars, and Pirates, among others, on several 70" HDTVs in and around the pavilion (not to mention a live Vegas concert in true 1080i broadcast on a 100"+ Panasonic HDTV that had visitors in standing room only watching! :eek).
At the time, I wasn't even aware that Warner Brothers had announced it was ditching HD-DVD and siding exclusively with Blu-Ray as of yesterday (which would explain why HD-DVD canceled 3 scheduled press conferences and interviews on the opening day... Not a good day for their campaign, to put it mildly! :redface)
But I digress. Aside from the Black Pearl, they also had screen-used 300 costumes: one Spartan hoplite and one Immortal - I posted those on this thread:

I'll have to go back and repost the photos full-size (I first used Wackychimp for those and then switched to ImageShack to post the Bumblebee).
Well, glad everybody likes the photos - they indeed are worth a thousand words... But as impressive as they are, there's the other old saying: "words are not enough - you had to be there!!!" :love
Cheers!
