Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon - Movie Discussion

The first two-thirds of the trailer looks like an excellent premise for a film which will be underutilized and ruined by being shoehorned in as the back story to a Michael Bay explosion-fest. Too bad.

+1 I liked how they tied it into the moon landing, but knowing Michael Bay...he focuses more on effects rather than story which is unfortunate...however, he does make great victoria secret commercial haha

If he kept the suspenseful nature of the trailer to the movie plus some expected action filled sequences and Baysplosions, it'll be fine but the trouble is he's gonna want to add dorky humor to it (e.g. Simmon's butt) and that'll bring the movie down.

I'm sure it'll be watchable. I mean, it can't be worse than the second one.

Optimus will have his trailer and given this will be the third act it will be a giant robotic mess :thumbsup

Plus I like the first two as well. Tons of robot battling fun times.

I have a feeling that this will be like the trailer for the first one. The first one showed that the Mars Rover was taken out by a Transformer, but the movie just mentioned it in passing and moved on.

That being said, anybody have any idea who that robot in the new trailer is supposed to be? Few of the modern day Bay style Transformers look like their G1 selves.

Nah I pretty sure its defintiely an Autobot ship or at least autobot structures. Remember in the first movie the decepticons landed originally on Mars.

I would say that its Alpha Trion just based on the moustache alone, which would make sense since he was 1 of 13 original transformers

Yeah the more I look at it the more sure I am that it is Alpha Trion! I havent watched them in awhile I'll have to do that soon but didnt starscream fly to the moon??

Didn't Alpha Trion have a different coloursheme? Am i the only one who sees Sentinel Prime? or maybe Vector Prime from the Cybertron series?

I think Vector Prime was just the cybertron version of Vector Sigma. They let a lot of copyrights go on the G1 characters so they have to change them. Thus Ratchet and Jazz in the toy lines are Autobot Ratchet and Autobot Jazz.

Didn't we have this kind of trailer already? A Mars rover discovers a Transformer and that was our supposedly "Only warning"? We've already been through this plot before in the last two movies. Discovering that Transformers have been around is not interesting anymore.

This is about as bad as AVP in establishing that ALIENS have been on Earth for thousands of years including infesting present day neighborhoods.

I'm gona pass on this one HARD. Maybe I'll watch it one day with RiffTrax but get it pre-owned so all the money goes to my favorite video store and not to the studios.

in the 60's, even has Kennedy in it. Then it jumps to present day. Hence the footage, moon landing, old equipment, etc...
