Topknot's Gauntlet. Just Posted Many New Pics Of The Finished Piece To Finish Up This Thread. 06/02/

Any thoughts about install a device that shoots dart-tips?
Hmm ..., I mean one that looks like it could shoot some.

Since the spear is on stand still I had to get back to this. I am starting the body sculpt. I really liked some of the
stuff I did on my mongo giant Topknot gauntlet so I am going to attempt to use some of the panels on this new one.

The first thing I did this morning was cover this in tape and secure the blades in place. I am going to try something
that I have never tried and that is to sculpt the body right on the mechanism. Here goes.

Here is the top panel cut out and laid in place for sizing. I don't know if you can tell but I cut the tops of the blades
down. I decided to try and make this as sleek as possible.

I'm trying to keep the top piece below 2.5 inches. Compared to the last one I did this is a midget.

That is it for today.

Dude, you work sooo fast it blows my mind.  The sculpt looks fantastic...what did you use?  I keep telling myself one of these days I'm gonna try my hand at sculpting.  Can't wait to see this one finished as well!

Brian

Brian, I haven't sculpted any of it yet. That is the cover for the old one. I layed up an extra so I could do a stunt double of it
but then I switched gears and started over on this one. I liked the top panel I sculpted on that one so much I decided not to sculpt it over again and just cut apart
the old one. I will be sculpting around that panel and I may even use other parts, shoot I may end up having to resculpt the whole thing.
We will see how it goes. By the way I always use regular old oil base clay.

Hey Skullcrusher don't get me going on a dart shooter you know me I will have to try to figure a way to make it work and I have
to many other irons in the fire. Hmm it would be cool.

This is a really different way for me to do things but I am sort off enjoying it. I chopped up the rest of the old gauntlet body and
cut, ground, and heat gunned the parts together. This will be all that I will do this way, The rest will be sculpted.

Love it Jeff, looks fantastic.  I'm very glad you're giving us something to follow!

Brian

Looking good here Jeff. I like it that you are using something you already made and just modifying it. Good use of resources. Looking forward to more progress on this.

Steve

Well, your "not much" looks pretty impressive to me. I don't know how you do it Jeff. Sometimes I can't seem to follow what you are doing but there is always a method to it which becomes clearer in the end.

Steve

I Follow the Mad man !!
I have only been working on suits about 3 years now but i have a long way to go to get to keep up with Jeff Here, but i will follow.
I don't know where it's going to end up but it looks like a killing machine !!!!!

I'm calling the front end done. I can only smooth things so much in the clay. I will finish the smoothing after it is cast.

Well done Jeff.  Were it not for the color, I wouldn't be able to tell where the original ends and the new sculpt begins.  You gonna do this in fiberglass?  As always,  nice clean work bud!

Brian

your imagination with the little greebies ands such is crazy--  I am always impressed looking at your builds.
