Tomy TOS Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser waitlist

They've talked about wall mounting options for future models, not sure how I feel about that.

I do wonder if locking themselves to this scale will limit collectability for people. I'm going to be cherry picking for sure, even if you can't display everything at once, the boxes are huge which makes storage a challenge.

Well there are already plenty of companies that do smaller scale diecast ST ships. So I guess this is the reason they went for larger stuff. Maybe they should look into doing a small scale but with lights. Small scaled stuff generally doesn't have it except for the plastic stuff.

There's nothing a middle size, your options are either tiny / small / gigantic.

I never understand why nice middle sizes aren't ever an option in the high quality arena, they're always confined to toylike basic $50 things.

Yes! My wife complains about me keeping the empty Tomy TOS box every time we venture into our loft, it's a massive box taking up a ton of space. She's going to be very unimpressed when two Refit boxes arrive...

I have the exact same problem lol. I’ve got 2 refits coming and the TOS sitting around. She has no idea that two more are coming. If she divorces me, it’ll be Star Trek: the search for a mate lol

I'm fortunate enough to not have that problem. I have a 700 sq ft. climate controlled building in the back yard and put in some shelves for such items.

So it's the models themselves that I hear about, not their boxes. And even then it's, "Where do you plan to put THAT?" So as long as I have a plan, I'm OK.

Wow, that's a great space! It looks far more substantial than your typical garden shed, did you build it? We're in the process of selling our house at the moment and finding somewhere with a garden suitable for a potential outbuilding is something on my secondary want-list for exactly this sort of reason. I'd be too concerned about moisture to store things like this in anything other than a proper permanent structure.

I see Tomy sent me an email yesterday saying that they'd added UK shipping for this project. Hopefully that's a trend that continues going forward and we don't have to have multiple different campaigns to fund models going to different parts of the world.

Just so you know ....I HATE YOU!!!...
;)

Man only 1045 backers and not even half of the 2 million bucks they need to get the D7 funded. 24 days left but not sure this is campaign will succeed.

1237 units sold as of now so it's moving much slower now. Its about 30 per day. It will probably make 2000 units in the next 24 days. I hope Tomy is willing to drop it down to 2000 units so it gets produced.

Yeah that’s right they’re looking for 3000 units. Hopefully like you said they’ll lower their goal. It surprises me that the D7 won the survey yet the support from the collectors seems rather uneven…disconnect there for me.

I want this, but I didn’t vote for it, thinking the Enterprise D would win, so I just voted for that. But like I said I would love to see the D7 produced as it really looks awesome.

Yeah, I definitely want both version that I ordered. I also want to support Tomy for putting these out and doing it right. Like you, I didn't vote for the D7. If memory serves I voted for the K'T'inga to be next.

I've been reading the comments and it seems a lot of collectors aren't purchasing the D7 not because they don't want it but because they think it is just too expensive. I don't agree and feel like Tomy is charging a fair price.
