Tombstone Val Kilmer / Doc Holliday Costume

We have the original photos from the holster maker that shows the true color of the rig. We got these photos when we got the original holster patterns. Wyatt’s rig is a dark brown, or at least this is the color I call it, but my leather guy may have a different name for it :D
Chasing colors is only one step above chasing buttons for level of anxiety.

I was looking at that color again and I think I need to do a base tan over the black and when totally set and dry, do a dark wash. The color at a distance is the darker brown and the lighter color just kinda peeks out at a few spots. To get that type of color It needs to be under the darker brown.

Opinions?

Finally got the Earp’s Tombstone badges in. These were the badges they wore to the O.K. Corral :)

Hey Guys,

So again, this post isn't about Doc, but at least this time I am staying in the correct movie........................

I just wanted to share a couple of photos of the rig my good buddy Edward over at EJ Leather Works made. You Tombstone fans will recognize this rig being the one that Kurt Russell aka Wyatt Earp wore in the movie. The rig was made from the original patterns the movie used (yes, we have some connections). Now in the photos below you will notice only one belt with two holsters on it, and in the movie, Wyatt wears two separate gun belts. The reason for just the one belt is my buddy's arms were killing him as he just made five rigs, and he didn't have the energy to make another belt. Also, the guns in the photos are the wrong guns as he didn't have the Buntline pistol. He also put the holsters on the wrong side, but don't worry as I am going to beat him later for this mistake......................... ;)

Anyways, I just thought you boys would like to see this

I think the movie belts where about 2 1/4" most copies are 2 1/2" but this looks right ! A 4 4 or 45 cartridge is about 1 1/2" so gauge it from that !
