To Hunter Or To Huntress.

I'm a brand new member myself, but I totally support your choice to craft a female predator.

I think that the process of creating the skin for the female pred would be a bit more of a challenge.
You will have more shapes involved in the build than the flat male torso. I don't mean to discourage you, but something to consider.

Also, if you are worried about height, some of the huntorials have tips on gaining a few inches. Here is a picture from topknot's feet tutorial http://www.thehunter...tart-to-finish/. Admittedly, he does go a little bit further into the foot creation process than beginners like us are likely to attempt...

I saw another tip where they recommended us to glue/bolt a few dollar store flip flops to the bottom of a pair of shoes for a lift.

Good luck, and keep us updated!

I saw an idea that I thought was good for female chest armor.

Buying a black padded bra a size or two too large and adding foamies for detail.

Here is a picture of some (WoW?) armor made from a bra.

Rofl!! I see people are still taking my comment the wrong way, In all honesty I thought I was quite subtle with how I worded it.
It could have been A LOT worse.
This is why I keep my mouth shut. I just think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I barely expressed mine. But you guys took offence to one little thing I've said. I wasn't calling EVERYONE on here a nerd rofl. Because they're not. Why would I say that when I'M here, it would be hypocritical lol. So you obviously haven't understood what I was saying. No need to make a fuss on this girls thread. Especially when she agree'd with some of my points anyway. So it should really just be let go. Ah well.. :) Good luck with your costume! Be cool to see what you come up with after all your research =]

Alright, let's try this a third time.
First my computer restarted in the middle of replying, then i had to stop again to go and visit a doctor. 8I

A'aww thank you, and Welcome to the lair!

Oh, i know right. 8I
I guess it all depends on what final design i come up with, and see how she compares with my own body.

I actually saw the tutorial before i saw the posts on this forum, Lol. I like the idea and i can make it with some help from my father, he's got all the powertools and knows what he is doing, but the main fact is how large the feet are after the guy hefted himself up some inches. I don't want to be out of proportion to much, so i'm debating on whether or not i should work on stilts like those.
But i really like the idea for instead of just blocking up spaces beneath the shoe he actually curved the wood so it wasn't in a uncomfortable position.
might have been obvious but hey, it's something i never picked out with stilts.

AHH BOOBAGE.
no really but, i kinda like that idea. Once i figure out what type of material or chest plate i'll use on her, i might use this to help form that shape. Better be something on sale lol, bra's get pricers the bigger the chest.
or at least from where i am at.

Wolfie it's okay~ :3
and thank yoou~ It's starting to get so bad i'm starting to dream about this damn thing, Lol.
but yess. Still in researching stage and in no hurry to start, i find waiting and having support under my wings will really get me into this thing.
Already has me freaking out about it. Lol.

That must have been a serious computer malfunction if it sent you to the doctor!

I'm not nearly muscle-y enough to wear feet the size of topknots (I'm going to end up a runt of a predator).
I bought a pair of wetsuit boots and my plan is to cover the front half with a puddle of spray foam insulation and carve some predator toes.

These things are very close fitting and won't add much bulk.
I do want to add some lift. I am only 5'11" and not going to grow any taller.
Bonus: They are cheap. I paid $26 USD on Amazon.

No... not really "took offense". In fact, I took no offense to it at all. I was only being sarcastic with my "nerdy pervy" response. That' sis why I put the :D next to it.

Hope to see a really cool build... It seems you have gotten what ya need to get crackin

Get Back to work!!! ...

(that comment is long standing joke)

What i learned quickly, for "cheap" things on making a predator costume, it's about 20 to 100 dollars, per whatever item/substance you need. 8I crap.
burning my sacred savings! ahaha! and i think i saw something about that.
Do you think if the stuff dried and you carved the foot out but accidentally..i don't know. cut off a toe, you could add more and it'd actually stay without any extra adhesive/glue/whatnots?
also the damage wasn't too bad, i still got some microchips in my brain but i should be fine.
wait.
what were we talking about.

Is it bad i got scared when i saw that you had posted? LOL. don't ask why. D:>
and i've seen that post before, muahaha totally not stalking comments, but bad thing is i won't be able to start hands on till after..late august? Profiling yes, will be jotting down ideas and the likes on making lists of supplies of course, but I gotta get a costume done i'm doing with a family member before i start on anything else.
it'll break her heart if i don't help her, and it'll make it even worse if i don't wear it for her.
Plus she told everyone at work and her customers have heard about it, so either way i'm screwd. LOL.

Good/bad thing guys.
Today i couldn't work on her design, after the doctor appointment and..apparently getting computer pieces out of my brain. Cool part is i got an idea and found a great tutorial for a different weapon than what i had originally thought of. The bad thing is if i go to hug someone and pull my hand back in excitement, the blade will shoot out and smack them across the face.
and it might hurt.
a lot.
hm.

welp.
time to sleep.
..which means browsing more forums, so woo!

You are going to need your victims friends to sign a waiver before you stab them in the face. There are some legal issues regarding suprise stabbings (at least, in most jurisdictions).

If you break a toe off during the carving process, you would be able to spray a new toe. The foam sticks to itself (and your clothes, and that part of the wall, that didn't need it, and...).

Yeah, this is an expensive endeavor. I am trying to make my costume for as cheap as possible, but I will be shocked if I manage to keep it under $200.

The only total waste of cash so far has been the Rubie's mask. I should have just used some upholstery foam for the back of the head. I knew it was large and ugly from the forums, but I figured that I needed somewhere to attach the dreads.
