TK Shims - Need a little Help

I'm working on my legs, and I have a couple questions and need some advise.

1. My legs (Thigh) are both not the same diameter. I need a shim on my right leg, but not my left. Do I make one for my left leg to match (and then make it a little too big)?

2. On my right leg (thigh) The top is where the shim is mainly needed, so it almost looks like a triangle (my knee needs to be tighter). Do I make it a rectangle or a triangle (with the knee being a tighter fit?)

Does anyone have any pics of their leg shims that I can see for a reference?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm so close to being done.

I hope this makes sense

I've got shims in my upper legs, upper arms and right forearm. Pics on my website here.

Great site man. Thank you very much.

So hat do you think about the triangle shim issue I have. Would you just make it a little more loose at the knee and have it be a straight rectangle? I'm leaning toward matching both legs (it's a little more difficult to hid the shim on the legs vs the arms)

The top of my thigh (toward my hip) is wide, but as it gets close to the knee end it doesn't really need the shim. Does that make sense? So if I make the thigh piece tight on my knee it makes the shim look like a triangle from the back.

Another way.... fat butt... skinny knee.

It's only my right thigh, so I don't know if I should make a shim for the left to match either, but I'm leaning toward making them match and just having the left leg be loose.

What do you think? Is that a clearer picture?

I see what you mean. My theory is, if you're making the suit to be worn, make it comfortable. If you're trying to be accurate then don't shim or shim as little as possible. If you plan on wearing it for more than a few hours at a time then do whatever it takes to make it comfortable. Most people won't even notice the shims and if the do ask them what they were doing staring at your butt. :lol I've had my suit for 4 years and no one's ever said anything to me about the shims. The majority of the public can barely tell that it's a stormtrooper much less how accurate it is.

good points. Perhaps I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill. I want the suite to look good for fans and for my peers (something to be proud of) I just didn't know what would look better or if anyone ever has come across this before.

I agree. Comfort (as much as there is) is very important.
