Tips on editable PDFs?

I'm sure some of you have come across these online - a large number of HP Lovecraft printables use thepdf format that can be edited to change the names, details etc.

Anyone have tips on doing this? I've played around with Nitro PDF Pro, but when it comes to scaling the original image (I want it to print to size automatically) the image comes out a bit small.

Attatched is a test I did, but the image prints credit card width (shoulda set it about 4 1/2"). Workable example, tho (original pic included).

Anybody got hints & tips to share?

Thanks for reading,
Coz.

Have you tried using Acrobat reader?
It's free to download and works on mac's & pc's.
Do you know if the document itself is the correct size or do you need to scale it to get it the right size?

In order to edit it, you're pmay need Acrobat Professional. It comes with the Adobe CS graphics package. I think you can also buy it separately. But reader should have the ability to resize and print.

Thanks for the tips, but I'm trying to create, say, an editable ID card PDF file at a higher resolution than I'm getting now - only I can't find a way to do that. Probably missing something.

I don't want the ID or whatever to print out at a low dpi. For example, the editable fields in the test pdf I made above work, but the image appears a little small on the screen when filling it in.

Please try out the test PDF for yourselves - the editable bits should be in a typewriter font and a handwriting signature font.

Thanks again - forgot I posted this! :D

I had a quick look at the PDF in acrobat, the preflight analysis shows the images in the PDF as all being 316.834 ppi, so its definitely a good enough resolution to print. As it's only 4.5" in actual length then at 100% view it would look smallish on the screen, would it not? Does it not print out very well when you try?
Typewriter and handwriting fonts all work well though :thumbsup
