Time for some time machine action

Hey everyone I'm new here of course and was told about this forum by a friend and joined while I could. I'm in the process of getting ready to build a hover board since I have always wanted to make a replica prop and I think that would be fairly easy for a first time build.

For now I figured, hmm I have 4 aoshima BTTF model cars so why not build one of those.

I scored these at the Delorean Car Show West in Vegas last fall. I think there are more than these 4 but these are what they had. Also had them signed by Andrew Probert and Claudia Wells. Bob Gale was sitting next to me at the dinner after I bought them and I didn't feel like bothering him for autographs. Never the less the boxes will get signed. I just wish they didnt have the stupid DOA stickers on them.

Anyways, I think the first one to be done with be the P1 car. The P1 and P3b car have the best box art on them. The other two just suck.

I do want to make them better than the japanese directions show so I think maybe some weathering and or better details.

If anyone is interested I will post updates and progress photos as I go

Always happy to view WIPs, with photos as you go!

When I lived in L.A., I used to see a DeLorean on the streets more than a few times a year...interesting cars.

These are 1/24 scale Aoshima kits correct? NICE kits, I've got a similar stack here myself.

Definitely interested in seeing the build-ups. If I may request a shot, I'd like to see the new drivers that are included.

And if anyone had the AMT when part 2 came out in the Theaters, its the same kit as Aoshima.

I suggest lighting these kits up with the lighting kit from voodoofx. It'll add alot to the realism of the car if you were wanting to go for detail. Good luck on your builds.

Cheers,
Chris

went to a friends shop today to work on these. He is a one man operation and just as I was about to break open the tape I got a text that I had left a sharpie in my work pants and had ruined a good amount of my clothes. I went home to see what I could salvage. Totally lame.

So next week I will try again at building the P1 car. I'll also bring my camera since I forgot it today

I'll do my own lighting kit. It's more fun to learn. We've got a ton of fiber optic laying around somewhere. Voodoofx's time machine example looks like it was painted with chrome paint. I might try to recreate the grain on my cars. I've got access to lots of fun stuff.
