I had heard rumors about this at the lot but never wanted to get my hopes up too high however, Burton MAY redo Disney's Sleeping Beauty however, dont be quick to think it may be like classic story only Disney knows how to say, but this would be Sleeping Beauty through Maleficents eyes....

LOVE IT ALREADY!

Well... the real fairy tales are nothing like what Disney did to them. Burton has a flair for the grim and unusual... but his style is also working against him as he tends to push things way over the edge sometimes.

Probably will have to see what his Alice in Wonderland remake does before Disney lets him loose with another classic...

So, my predictions for this movie are as follows:

Christina Ricci will be playing Sleeping Beauty.
Johnny Depp will play the Prince, with a bit of a gothic twist.
Helena Bonham Carter will reprise the role of the internally tortured Maleficient.

Can you really tell me the casting will be otherwise?

Someone take the camera away from Tim Burton until he can come up with an original idea again, and cast some fresh faces. I feel like I've been watching the same dang film from him for the last ten years. The guy that gave us Beetlejuice sure seems to have gotten lazy.

:thumbsup Less is more, sometimes. I wish Burton understood that.

QFT. His stuff has become too formulaic for words. I don't bother seeing it at all any more, let alone at the theatre.

The guy that gave us Beetlejuice sure seems to have gotten lazy.

He needs to remake Beetlejuice. With Johnny Depp as Beetlejuice. I mean, as things stand it just sticks out like a sore thumb. It doesn't fit! IT'S ALL WRONG, MAN!!!

Tim has a style like no one else in Hollywood, and tho his films DO appeal to a certain audience, again, you cant compare his artistry and his retelling of stories. In the world of film, originality is a rarity these days. I for one, look forward to this becoming reality because its Wicked meets Sleeping Beauty where we get to hear the OTHER side which right there should say, maybe it wont be like his other work.

A director doesnt hold the camera btw, but when a director/ writer takes on an idea, he risks the critics whether good or bad. As for me, working in the business you get to appreciate everything that happens behind the scenes which you would widen your perspective and appreciate things. Tim Burton is not top on my list of loving his work, BUT I do appreciate ones attempt at trying.

This is just my opinion and we definately all have ours to share, but as I said, should it greenlit, I am hoping to be on the films credits.

So without, Ms Maleficent, PLEASE tell us your side....

That's why I don't even bother. He just reuses the same people over and over and over. If he's that great, do a movie using different actors!

POSSIBLE SPOILER: SLEEPING BEAUTY will be played by Johnny DEPP :lol

hahaha

I wonder who pushes it more over the edge..Michael Bay or Tim Burton

Sounds good to me. I would not go see any regular version of Sleeping Beauty. I like all of Burton's stuff (except Ed Wood) and have no issues with the casting returns. They are actors after all playing different parts, so it works for me.:thumbsup

I'm still waiting for the future disney classic about the wimsical adventures of Tim Burton's and Johnny Depp's love child

QFT yet again. Man, I am SO tired of Tim Burton. He's done some great stuff in the past but now he's like a scratched record playing the same thing over and over and over. :sick

Rumor has it Angelina Jolie has been pegged to play the role of Maleficent as Burton attempts Sleeping Beauty through Maleficents eyes.
