Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

I hope they are true 1:1 scale and not 1:1/2 scale like not so Master Replicas.

Speaking of SideShow. I was on their website and they have their image gallery secured for images of their new Tonner figures coming out soon. Mad Hatter is locked down tight!!! Anyone gots an account?

So, since apparently the leather used for the MH hat was found in Rome, how could we refine the search?
Rome is a damn huge city with hundreds of places that could make something like that...
Any ideas?

I was going to say that the milliner that made the Captain Jack tricorn is a place to start but I don't remember the name.

It may be that we need the name of the source that provided the leather to the costume house. Maybe if we had access to someone who works in the prop house that may know something?

Hmmm! Who do we know here at RPF that MAY have access to the AIW prop house? I wonder? Anyone? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm??? :confused

I think that not only one leather there..
As well as the majority of costumes from this film (and Star Wars or Lord of the Rings) - half of fabrics for this films has been bought in Italy(other were from Great Britain,France,China,USA and Japan - all are main fabric suppliers)
I have in a head the idea to get original fabrics (about 1-2 metres only) and simply to copy them, having sent swatches on manufactories..
I try to find people who can precisely define from a photo colour (exact) of fabric.
I hope that I will find somebody who will help.
By the way, if you have noticed, Alice Battle Armor is not the whole armor - this is mixed with a fabric (I think that is a some kind of leather with silver colour).

OH it is armor. Made by Sword And Stone here in Burbank, cA!! Same guys that make the Spack Jarrow sword and many other POTC props!

There may be a lightweight stunt version out there as well.

If someone can post a pic of the MH's hat leather ye be seeking, I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm pretty good at finding stuff sometimes.......

Ok! So we narrowed down the leather to the city of ROME!

How did you begin thinking about the Mad Hatter's costume?
In the first fitting, I had all these ideas — the bandoleer of silk thread spools, the fun ribbons on his outfit. I wanted Johnny to use the tools of hat making if he wanted to. And he took to it like a duck to water. The jacket relates to the period of Lewis Carroll, but it is in totally different materials, with lots of layers of silk. I found some leather in Rome that was laser-cut to look like it had been burnt. We had the hat made out of that.

For those of you that want a closer view of the Fob-io!

Did you redo the crown too? It looks more precise. Not downing your work at all. Its all awesome.

I also wanna see your other crown... :cool

Yeah, the initial design has been updated with taller spires and stronger fasteners in the back. All the kinks have been pretty much worked out. :thumbsup

I should have the WQ crown available by EOD tomorrow!

Not really a costume, but this is the WIP of the Executioners Axe. Still in raw stage but eh, its coming together. :lol

Just printed this up... Using photos from nickytea, I was able to put the pieces together. Here is a sample just printed up...
Love both!
I also loved the executioner character... Any pics out there?;)
Help us, Ramiel, you're our only hope. :lol
When people needs help, when the city is in danger, when seems there is no hope, THEN it's when Ramiel type a funny joke (or is it?) and nothing more useful!

:lol:lol:lol

Ok, if I will have the time I will visit Bruno Pieroni (its theatrical cosumes shop is LITERALLY 5 minutes from my GFs house...):)
Hopefully we could try to track some other info down...

Wish I had a girlfriend to buy that for. :lol :lol :lol

I wish my wife gave a crap about Alice. :lol

Love that crown. There's something about the section of the score in that scene when she says the line "but, that is against my vows" that sends a chill down my spine every time.
