TIE Pilot costume -Finished

Hi, heres my ongoing TIE pilot project.

Ive tried to get things I can build as much as possible. Ive also had to look for affordable options, as Im on a budget. I have a baby and a 2.5 kid, so they are my main hobby and needs my money. :lol

I love the wonky and dodgy movie used route, so wonky details, poor vision and wrinkled decals are my way to go.:love

Anyhoo heres what I got so far.

Helmet. A kit from UK. Very fun to build and great service. Tried to assemble it like the originals. Hoses from a friend in Denmark.:thumbsup

Blaster. I decided to mod the plastic Rubies DL44. Proportions and size is ok, and it goes zap zap when pulling the trigger.:love (I made a tutorial on my site if anyone wants to mod one.)

Belt. A cool guy in Finand made it. He also have custom made greeblies.

Im waiting for leather gloves, a jumpsuit, cap and armor + box.

Still need to get german jackboots, a holster and compad.

Oh, I just got hold of movie accurate vinyl cogs for the costume from a german friend. Very cool!

Oh, posted in the wrong section. If a mod could move it to the costume section? Sorry!

I love this helmet. Wow!
haha, my first casts were made of hotglue as well, back in the early 80´s. Why not. It´s a good solution sometimes. Sturdy, lightweight and flexible at the same time...:lol

Re: TIE Pilot costume

My Tie Pilot gear has sadly been setting incompleted in storage for several years. I made my compad out of styrene and plexy.

Re: TIE Pilot costume

Working with a small Hobbie Budget can be a real pain if you have a time line and need your costume ready for an upcomming convention or halloween party. When I was working on mine on a regular bases I found it great fun to have to exercise my imagination in ways I hadnt before. I sent hours in the hardware stores tring to figure out how I could manipulate different things into becomming what I needed, and not what the manufacuture intended. Stick with it and build as much of it yourself as you can. .......... here is a pic of my still unfinished chest box

Re: TIE Pilot costume

Wow, great scratching! Im also thinking of using styrene for the commpad, as im used to working with it.

I love the other stuff you did! Very creative.(y)thumbsup
