Bringing this back for one more Halloween and perhaps the Austin Comic Con this year. Couple new pics.
These shots were taken last weekend when the movie opened - we are outside a comic shop on Free Comic Day.
The faux leather really stands out from all the spandex, no?
Original post:
Complete! Took it down to the wire but got both our suits done on time for the Zombie Ball in Austin. Had a great time and got lots of compliments and photo requests.
More costume progress. Step 1 was to cut plates out of craft foam.
I've coated the craft foam plates with plasti-dip liquid rubber to give them a leathery feel and make them more durable.
I then mounted the breast and abdomen disc plates, painted the belt gold and added all the rivet details.
Then one final pic of the test fitting with the armor mounted on a tight fitting compression shirt with contact cement.
I've mounted the shoulder pads (doubled up foam knee-pads from Home Depo coated with plasti-dip), added metal cape "clasps" and a rough cape made from deep red velvet.
Still need to finish off the cape, make my arm bracers and work on my boots.
