Thor: The Dark World

Def. digging the costumes for Sif and Thor. My BF and I will be doing those instead of Thor!Sif and Avengers!Thor as originally planned. woot!
 
Thanos is my favorate character in marvel comics but you cant have an Infinity gauntlet story without Adam Warlock! And drax is going to be in guardians of the galaxy so, Infinity Watch?

I've been stating this same thing for a while in the GoG thread. Seems most really just want to see Rocket Raccoon. I personally only want to see GoG to see how they tie Adam into the Avengers movie. And Silver Surfer, and Doctor Strange.

i would love to see Strange in some stuff but he should have his own movie! he would be awesome but they would need to find the right actor. and the interactions between Stark and Strange in the comics are extremely entertaining!

Yeah, I remember hearing about the situation as if it was a Fantasy Football trade.

"Marvel would acquire the rights to Silver Surfer & Galactus in exchange for longer rights dates to Daredevil and a 2nd rd pick in next years draft...."

Wait, that last part is not right....:facepalm But I never followed back up w/it. So whoever owns all those rights (Fox, right?) has now lost the rights to Daredevil, but retains the rights to Silver Surfer & Galactus? What for? Fox should have taken the deal. Hopefully Marvel can force their hand, but there is still some time.

Agreed. I am not sure who I would want to play the Dr. though. I keep having Guy Pierce pop in my head, but not sure if he would be a good Dr. Strange. Maybe it is because of the age makeup in Prometheus. But he is a fine actor.

Or Peter Gallagher. I think he could definitely pull off the look. Add a mustache and he IMO looks just like Dr. Strange. I don't know about him in the role either though. I cannot see either of them really trading barbs w/RDJ. But both are good actors.

I know a lot of talk has been around Viggo Mortensen. I really like him as an actor, but can he play the Dr? I kind of feel that way about everyone I think of. Maybe no one is good enough to play the doctor. :$

yes, as of october the rights to daredevil revert back to marvel. fox still holds all the fantastic 4 universe characters.
what for? they wanna cash in. they knew a new daredevil would be not in the line of an avengers movie etc, and therefor wouldnt have been for the average movie watcher.
Fantastic 4 is more in the realm of the marvel cinematic universe, and they plan to cash in on that sheer fact. first they can make a movie and people will see it because its similar to avengers, and second they can rent their rights to certain characters for a percentage of the movie income to marvel. this way they have no work to do for the movie, and still cash in.

That’s unfortunate, Viggo Mortensen would have made a fine Strange! He is one of the few actors who could play the part well and have the ability to carry the character with his level of acting. Doctor Steven Strange isn’t going to be an easy roll to play for anyone, but if there is a Strange I have to wonder who would play the Ancient One.
 
Not sure how Dr Strange would fit in this "hyper reality" mold of the marvel movies.

Even Asgardians are just technologically advanced beings instead of gods.

I guess Strange will be some kind of really great scientist then?
 
^ Magic has already been established as part of the MCU via Asgardian tech. The MCU has already gone well beyond magic with the introduction of aliens and god-like beings, I don't see this as a huge stretch.

Remember, magic is simply science that can't be explained yet ;)
 
^^NEW HAMMER LOOKS SICK! I love the design at the bottom of the handle & how it just has a darker brown look to it. The hammer in Avengers was a good size, this looks about the same, but the handle in Avengers was very light brown, almost didnt match w/ Thor's armor, THIS NEW ONE DOES!
 
I think someone like Liam Neeson would be awesome as Dr Strange.
