Things you're tired of seeing in movies

I'm just wondering how long before tv shows start rebooting themselves. I'm not talking about stuff like The Twilight Zone or more Trek stuff, I'm talking actually rebooting shows. Too young to remember Friends? Here it is again with just different actors playing Ross, Chandler, etc. Don't like those old versions of Married With children? Well, here it is again with new actors playing the same parts. We're even going to use the same scripts!

It's Monday and my brain hasn't turned all the way on yet--please tell me this hasn't been done before.....

Reboots. Meh.
I don't understand why people are getting all excited about the likely reboot of Battlestar Galacita. The 2000s series turned the 1970s series totally on it's ear. I just don't see why you gotta re-boot that again. It's Spiderman all over again!
Speaking of over used pieces of music: Ride of the Valkyries
That's my cell phone's ringtone. It always surprises people the first time they hear it. It grates on my nerves to hear people say, "Ah COOL, the theme to Apocolypse Now!" Just like the "Theme from 2001" it'll forever be known for the movie it was in, not the classic piece of music it really is...

That was Erika? I thought that was Drew Barrymore - or am I getting my wires crossed?
Drew was the sister.

Erika was the girl Eliot had the crush on.

I feel like a creeper for even looking that up.

I at least know the name of it, and that Wagner composed it, also that Hitler liked Wagner. Very useful information really :lol

The funny thing is that when I watched Apocalypse Now for the first time, MY reaction to this piece of music was: "Oh cool it's the song from Battlefield Vietnam"(a PC game from 2004) :lol which of course got the inspiration from Apocalypse Now :facepalm :lol

Under Seige? Who's going to replace Erika Eleniak?
Throw a rock. You'll hit any number of attractive blondes with no acting talent whatsoever.

...But replacing Seagal with a 2x4? Bud, I think you're giving him entirely too much credit. I've seen better acting from my right shoe...
Well, your shoe does have more...sole.

Y'see, because sole and soul are homonyms, and...oh, you figure it out.

I know. But Hollywierd seems to be suffering from a dearth of even marginally attractive women these days. What happened?

OK, that is just plain /bad/! (And probably worse that I chuckled at it?)

There was an ad on tv last night that had a wilhelm in it. I wasn't actually watching the ad but I heard the scream. I do think it was an inside joke, though.

They all drank the Kool Aid and bought into the Hollywood notion that women have to be built like broom handles. Jebus ladies, eat a pizza and a couple of cheeseburgers once in a while and grow some curves, will ya'?

Yeah, I know, but it popped into my head and I wasn't going to be tortured by it alone. :D

I saw that, and my first thought was that they used it because they know about the whole "Wilhelm scream" phenomenon and used it for the comedic effect.

she's simply become not in her 20s, the fate that befalls us all...

Oddly, I don't think a woman gets really attractive until she hits thirty or so, in most cases. Maybe I'm just a MILF hunter - but by the time she's thirty, she's filled out in her body a bit, and her personality has settled down - she's finally over all that "drama" that girls are into in their teens and twenties.

I HATE drama. It serves no purpose. It's a waste of time and energy. (Similarly, I find "office politics" unacceptable. It's one of the few reasons that I have terminated/dismissed an employee immediately and without recourse - and you're warned of that when you sign on. I wish I could do that for Congress as well - I think out of the 537 people elected to run the country, probably 520 or so of them should be fired out of hand...)

"Wilhelm scream"

Just stop it. Everyone knows about it. It is no longer an inside joke, now it is just lame.
