Things you're tired of seeing in movies

Anytime that anyone catches the edge of a building/edge/rock formation with a one handed grip and then dangles from their fingertips, ESPECIALLY when they have been flung and/or or sliding over the edge, I call shenanigans. Even professional rock climbers would have a hard time pulling that off.

3D animation. I was watching the Iron Giant last night. I kept thinking how sad it is that we don't get 2D animation like this anymore (I realize it has 3D animation as well). At least when it comes to western 2D animation. Obviously, eastern 2D is still plentiful.

...or they fall and manage to reach up at the last second to grab said ledge (or someone else's hand) which would have passed them by seconds earlier.
And the person pulling them up by one hand is ridiculous. It's pretty much impossible for the average person to pull up the dead weight of an entire adult person with one arm, without proper leverage.

As to the earlier comments of a person grabbing onto something while falling, in "Spider-Man 2," frail, old Aunt May using her umbrella to hook onto the building was unbelievable. Not only wouldn't she have the strength, her fabric-gloved hands certainly would've slipped off of the slick nylon material of the umbrella. Not even a "Ninja Warrior" has that kind of grip strength.

The whole fast moving motorcycle, using the front wheel brake to stop, basically doing a reverse wheelie. I've ridden many motorcycles in my day. You hardly/if ever use the front brake. Its just a disaster waiting to happen.

Multiverse. Obviously specifically Marvel, but how lazy and dumb are they to kill off hero's only to bring them back repeatedly through the nonsense of the 'Multiverse' idea.

Because they don't care, it's actually smart. It creates an endless way to rinse and repeat for profit. Problem is, it takes away from the previous stories that conclude the hero's journey satisfactorily.

In the 1980s(?) one of the daytime TV soap operas showed a character waking up from a dream and used that to erase a whole season of stuff.

These multiverses are a coat of sci-fi paint on the same thing. You can't sustain interest/drama when all the consequences are negotiable.

Yes! It's even dumber when the hero is hanging by one arm and catches another, then while still hanging pulls that person up to the ledge. Even Arnold would have trouble pulling that off!

I'm all for the Multiverse if they used it in SW and have Luke wake up with the Sequels having been a Force vision of what happens if he does something wrong!

I've seen plenty of race pros doing the reverse wheelie before a tight turn;) The very important word is Pro...of course:p:p:cool::cool:

I think they do that in movies because it looks cool. And probably because the directors are drawing from life experience on bicycles. They are recalling the physics of 30-pound bikes and trying to apply it to 400-pound motorcycles.

I actually have a bachelors degree in computer animation, so this might be heresy, but I actually agree with you. I still love the good old fashioned hand drawn masterpieces.

I’ll never forget in school, my first ever animation class was old school pencil drawing and it was taught by two former Disney animators. One of my favorite classes of all time. I had absolutely no problem holding a pencil all day.

It actually wouldn’t be a bad idea for someone like Disney to go old school for a one-time movie now. I was just thinking that if they did I’d never have even the slightest chance of getting hired because since everyone moved away from it, the great masters of 2d have all had to find other work or learn computers (which is why I had such good teachers) and would all be available.

If Disney decided to do one now they could have the dream team of the best of the best.
