Things that didn't "sell" the character to you.

Say it isn't so. :cry I have know idea what you called Thor. :) I thought they did a good job on Thor. Thor was awesome. The weakest part of Thor to me was Jane Foster. And her friend I think her names Kat? Any way she was horrible in Defendor as well.
I just called him a bazterd

Killed her career too.

Although Long Kiss Goodnight was excellent. But after that. Nothing.

and her marrige with the director...but the pirate movie is a good adventure movie, but not dead serious.

Dobby. "Wheee! WHA-HOO!!! WHA-HEYYY!!" <jumping on bed> "Oh Mr. HARRY POTTER sir! Dobby is SO PLEASED to meet you sir! Dobby would SO LIKE to give you a foot massage sir! And maybe stalk you a little, sir!!"

Honestly. I don't CARE if it's in the book. Just snip the little creep out already.

Couldn't agree more. But you have to admit, Dobby in DH part 1 was pretty cute lol.

I've said it in other TDK threads, but Christian Bale's Batman voice (as opposed to his regular Bruce Wayne speaking voice) was so bad that I can't believe anyone let him get away with it. I never saw Batman Begins because the Nolan re-boot didn't really interest me. So I went into TDK not knowing too much about the character. The first time he spoke as Batman I literally almost burst out laughing. I had to try really hard to contain myself because it just sounded stupid.

I'll echo what others have said about Hayden's performance. In my mind, AOTC wasn't too bad, but there were some serious missteps in ROTS.

awww come on! I totally bought him in the Blade films ;)

Also u cant forget his epic performance in Demolishion man.. thought he was gonna get the oscar for that one. In fact that should have swept the oscars:rolleyes....:sick

And oh, one more, did NOBODY notice that the female ape (sorry, forgot her character's name) in the Burton remake looked EXACTLY like Michael and/or Janet Jackson?

:cool

Here I go.

Kirk from Star Trek 09. I don't care if he didn't have a father figure to grow up with. Being an arrogant a**hole doesn't make me want to sympathize or care about your struggles when you do nothing to make amends for any negative action you inflict. I would rather have the whole federation fleet captained by John Harriman clones than one ship captained by you.

Hmm. Who else... I don't think Bale's Batman was all that bad, but he certainly isn't the strongest element in his movies. Here's hoping that Catwoman steals his thunder. :)

Oh! Avatar. Jake Sully. His behavior and actions reflect more of a middle school student who can't bring himself to do his homework than a former marine soldier. I just don't buy how he continues to go with plan on tearing down the world tree even after all the things he learns about the Navi. He doesn't say a thing until after it's too late. What was he thinking?

Transformers. Shia Labuckfudge's character. The movies try so hard to sell me on his character of Sam when all I wanted was for the movie to sell me on the Transformers as characters.

Star Wars? I don't like Anakin. I don't believe for one moment that he was a good person post The Phantom Menace, and he is not worthy of redemption. The mere thought of him seeking redemption after death in the EU books post Return of the Jedi is sickening. 10 seconds of good does not make 20+ years of betrayal, slavery and genocide go away. The fact that he dies after this gets him off the hook from correcting any further mistakes he's made, the lucky #!)%(_!$@#.

Green Lantern movie. There is nothing about Hal jordan that makes me want to care for him in the slightest. He's a character loaf. A product made up of other good characters that's been spliced and grounded together to form this mushy sheet of a character that's devoid of anything unique.

Cowboys and Aliens. The movie's attempt at making me feel something for the character of Doc only served to make me hate him more. I saw this movie when I still didn't have a job, so seeing his character mope and complain did nothing for me, especially when he owns a Tavern and has a lovely, sweet and supportive wife.

Lord of the Rings. Aragorn. He's two things I don't like rolled into one. He makes the stupidest hypocritical decisions that end up costing people's lives and he surrounds himself with people who worship him like he's the second coming of ******. What good did letting Grima Wormtongue go serve? He ends up telling Saruman where Theoden and his people will go to Helms Deep, he reveals the weakness of Helm's Deep and kills Saruman when he was just about to make a deal with Gandalf in exchange for telling the fellowship where Sauron was going to strike next. And of course, Aragorn decapitates a human messenger of Sauron when Theoden offered Grima a chance to come back to Rohan. I agree with Boromir. Gondor needs no king.

Joker from Mass Effect. I can tell that the developers and writers of the Mass Effect series LOVE the Joker, but his actions are by far some of the most childish and grusomely insulting things I've ever seen a character do in any medium. He's loyal to Commander Shepard in the first game, who's also loyal to the Alliance. When Mass Effect 2 comes in, he disobeys orders in abandoning the Normandy when it's under attack which results in Shepard losing his/her life just to save him. How does he feel about this? He abandons the Alliance and joins Cerberus with no second thought. And when he and Shepard are reunited, he shows no signs of gratitude for Shepard in saving his life, nor any remorse on being responsible for Shepard's death. I HATE Joker.

I don't think loyal was ever in Joker's vocab, i think he'd do anything to fly including sell his own mother. The problem with Christian Bale is his characters always seem alike in his movies except for American Psycho which he was great in. I agree in Shia's character being bad, also the version of Optimus prime in the bayformer movies wasn't what it could have been. I know it's a more realistic version but he comes off as killing way too easily without regretting having to take the lives.

I agree but apparently toy companies don't.. I see almost as many Nick Cage 1:6th figures as I do Tom Cruise.

I have one or two of each guy too :lol

That's because he makes sixty movies a year. No matter what it is, he'll be in it. He's apparently broke.

I have to agree, Bale's "Batman" voice is tiresome and it doesn't really fit "Batman", but I still like both films. How'd he get away with selling that to the director?Probably because "He's Christin Bale" be my guess and he would have ripped the director a new one if he didn't get his way like he did that poor bugger on the T4 set.Nick Cage is as good an actor as any, its just his last dozen films or so have just sucked (except for Kick Ass),he was hilarious in that with his Adam West impersonation.

I didn't feel anything for any of the characters in Tron Legacy...what a HUGE LET DOWN.All it ended up being was a *pretty film* with lots of CG,nothing more.Disney really screwed the pooch on that one.I have to disagree with Christen Hayden's Anikin Skywalker/Dark Vader performance. He turned Vader into a whining, crying P*^#$!#@%? who threw temper tantrums like a 3 yr. old.I winced whenever he spoke a line or had to be in a scene. It just outright sucked and that I believe is more Lucas's fault than the actor.

Clearly Lucas has lost his screen wrting skills and he really should have farmed out for some decent writing help I.M.O.His screen plays went from childish/ stretching science fiction that didn't even fit within the realm of "Star Wars" to politically boring with space ships, aliens and some brief action scenes thrown inbetween. My then 6yr. old nephew at the time was utterly confused and was only excited when he saw an alien, space ship or something blow up.

It was really an empty film with an undeveloped script.Seems to me(recalling) that Lucas just went back to his loosely scribbled outline from like 20 odd years before to develope the screen plays from.Probably not a good method of writing, but hey...people have their ways of doing things. He just didn't sell it to me.
