TheNickFox Presents: Raimi Spider-Man Pattern - Now Even More Accurater!!! (Page 5)

Re: TheNickFox Presents: Raimi Spider-Man Pattern - Now Even More Accurater!!! (Page

Your first picture is how it's supposed to look. There is no "V." The only thing I can think of is that what you're trying to replicate is a camera/screenshot artifact known as moiré. The bricks on the face are un-messed-around-with.

On a separate note, though, you should really be using a higher resolution brick pattern. The one you're using is fuzzy. and will look even fuzzier and out of focus when printed. Note in my instructions, on the first page, that my pattern file I made there is 500 pixels big and at the resolution I'm working at, each brick is over 1" tall. So that when I scale it down, it maintains its clarity.

That's what I figured you did...and it's why I posted a low res image way back then. I wanted to share the techniques of how these suits are made so others could make them, but not remove the work entirely. (That's also not the shape that the films used for the bricks, it's a simplified form for this explanation)

You're going to need to rasterize the layer first before it'll let you spherize.

Also, there's no need to color the bricks, you will do that through the blending options. You want the bricks lines to be black and there to be no fill inside them.

Just take your time and refer back to my instructions. You'll get there.

As an interesting/funny update:

Nearly two weeks ago now, I had to entirely wipe my hard drive.

...but guess who had numerous backups of his Spidey files this time around! THIS GUY!

Hell! I even have the origin, un-color-corrected TKComics pattern backed up. Hard drive failures can't keep me down now that I've learned my lesson. (Multiple times)

The biggest problem for me is figuring out where to place the designs on blank templates so that stripes and other details on the shoulders match up where they meet the arms. Not even for Spider-man costumes, but just in general.

What I do is looks at pics of the rami suit, and compare it to the rami pattern to get a better idea of what piece goes where.

Hey! :)
I'm trying to make my own designs.........Where can I find a good template for the suit?
And I also need a good muscle base......Where can I find one? lol
Any help would be great!
Thanks

Re: TheNickFox Presents: Raimi Spider-Man Pattern - Now Even More Accurater!!! (Page

Thank you!
Do you have a muscle base in these too?

I'm looking for a blank template/suit so I can change the design if you know how to do that or where to get one?

It should all be in the layered Photoshop file. If the muscle bases in that file check out my Raimi thread it's in that layered file for sure.

Hey Nick! Just bumping an old thread a little. I was wondering, does your Raimi muscle base have the "dark shoulders" problem? I've printed KenLandrum's Raimi file and the shading appears to be way darker in the back area of the shoulders than the rest of the suit. I was trying to fix it in Photoshop but erasing that area looks odd and changing the opacity makes the arms look flat and not as muscular as they should. Any advice? Thanks. //Billy
