Theme Park connection prop and wardrobe Icollector auction 28th March 2015

and were does this info come from re produce ing Disney stuff? thats just silly for one i met them threw one of my talents who owns the biggest Disney collection.
and is basically a Disney authenticator who only trust Theme Park they would never bother with that or even know how too they have to much inventory every single apcot theme park sells to them by the crates., as for making props i am quite sure that wont happen,,lol considering that all there items are from reputable collectors or prop stores or studios.
even there autographs that they sell they refuse to trust any one with, unless one of there autograph hounds or what ever we call the guy who shows up at places premieres getting signatures they wont buy it if there is no picture of the celeb sighning it,, i recently bought from theme park a stark industry little ammo box he had it signed with pics from Downey Jr and stan lee. stan even insisted he put a silly hologram he now carrys on him to prove its real not fake,,lol

@Rik1138 stole their photo ?? that's a bit harsh they put up in two weeks 400 items , when i asked Brian what the deal was he said that the employee who listed it thought oh cool heres one i can just take off screen used, and he was the one who also re wrote the listing totally wrong, the problem was fixed almost immediatley considering the time difference.

i agree that should not of happened too,but it almost seems like whatever they do u wont be happy with meanwhile they are just trying to offer a new type of service out of 400 items for a first auction i think they did quite well at giving the best information on the items being pretty new to the prop world yes they do wardrobe and theme park stuff. but when u deal with those pieces the studio is there to give u wardrobe tags and info. its not as easy as you know with consignments and props, every single [prop house and auction house has had items we could question,if we want too the collectors that i spoke to today are all very thrilled at how easy it was to consign the items, and at the bids they are getting and that only now they are shipping what ever has gotten bids, i think it says a lot about a company who is willing to trust the collector enough to not have them sign anything or ship anything only by verbal agreement, it says im willing to trust you if you trust in me, and that wont ever change doesnt matter if theme park gets bigger or smaller. they are also planning on paying the consigner and shipping asap. and to be honest i hope they continue to make little mistakes its the only way for any person or company to grow,,,so lets try to maybe look at some positive aspects not just on these guys but on all auctions ..

Well, saying 'here's one I can just take off Screen-Used' is pretty much 'stealing the photo'... :) But, yeah, that might have been a harsher statement than was required... But it did seem weird that they were using another auction house's image... (And the smiley was meant to indicate it was a joke...)

But I'm not the one that's not happy with any of this, I'm just commenting on other people's posts... I didn't know they didn't actually have any of these items in hand, and that they are completely taking the consignors at their words and using their photos. While that is great for the consignors I suppose, I can see that causing issues in the future. And not just with the fluctuating picture quality. For those that know who the consignors are, you can easily gauge your trust of the piece from that, but for the general buying public, they don't have any idea... I'm not saying I don't want it to work out or anything, just expressing a thought that it could cause problems they may not have thought about (items damaged/lost in shipping, a consignor changing their mind and not shipping an item, etc...) Hopefully everything works out perfectly and everyone is happy, but I also hope someone is thinking about 'what could go wrong' and has a plan in place to handle it. Handling complaints will be what sets them apart as a good or bad auction service. So, anticipate every possible thing that can go wrong, and have a plan worked out with how to deal with it. Maybe they already do, I don't know, but just putting that out there... (And the hat listing is a perfect example- someone had a concern, they responded fairly quickly. I think their wording might still be a little 'loose', but they did take the concerns into consideration and fixed things pretty much immediately... They are already doing FAR better than some auction companies with regards to that kind of problem...)

As for their history with Disney collectibles, I have no first-hand knowledge of that, just what I've been told by others. Contact the OP of the thread referenced here, see if he has more detailed information on that topic. I'm just relaying information I had heard a couple of years ago...

I read that one and to be honest the consensus at the end among the "experts" on that board is it's probably a piece of railing from around the back or side of the exhibit.

Its to not my thing Disney so again I leave it to the "experts"

to to be honest the amount of complaints I've found is about the same as my local McDonald's on yelp so frankly I take it with a pinch of salt.

if they pay me quickly...get the items to the bidders in reasonable time and sell as described they have met their requirements with me.

Im still again totally surprised that no one has brought up the latest PP which is awash with garbage or HD and their labels but TPC gets bashed over and over

Ce la vie.

kinda hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic or being serious in their posts....

how are their "expert' opinion any different from the "expert opinion" of prop collectors on this board or with prop blogs...

it makes me wonder if you guys are only defending them because your items are in their auction...kinda comes off heavily bias since you have some sort investment....

just my personal opinion....

I'm not bashing TPC in any way...I was just asking if this was the same company that had the mishap with the Hunger games auction...

i did collect disneyland items for some time, and read about them on the disney forums ....some of their listings are confusing, and sometimes feel misleading....

how things are written makes you feel the item was actually used on the ride, but turns out it wasnt the case...

I only defend them because of the "well I heard this stuff" or "I read that somewhere". Then the "well maybe that isnt the case"....well it isnt fair to them.

Id do the same if it was propstore...screenused...even Premiere.

Well...maybe not premiere with the LOTR and Harry Potter stuff.

I have a few things in their because I was asked to support it as a new venture and because these days everyone has things to sell and ebay isnt working for most of us anymore.

Anyway Im done, The auction is today....if your bidding good luck...if your not...good luck.

Full report on the propstop monday with prices and news on their next event which I have just been told today.

If if you guys really want to see some fun listings check out the competitors auction same day.

That's the truth! I noticed there's a few items from my collection in the PP auction that I sold to another collector only a few weeks ago and they've certainly evolved since I had them.

@ ER not defending them have an investemnt in them i sure do. about 200 items myself and other collectors consighned who by the way could not be happier.lets see what they do with there next hunger games auction and if one item was miss represented out of 400 items and they fixed it .. im sorry i give them a Big get out of jail pass when i look at other auctions that have about 200 items that they claim used and there is no screen capture or any info .and they been doing this monthly or couple times a year and nobody talks about them i get upset to see all this chat on an a new company trying to do the right thing, lve said my part i wont say anything else i will turn to the positive remarks on the mpf about tpc that has been posted already this morning, you are welcome to have your opinion im sure one day they will have something u want. and you will buy from them, and if not then so be it, have a great weekend,

Hi guys I don't believe I have posted here before but I read the forum regularly and wanted to throw my support behind the Theme Park Connection auction

I think the concept is great. Where else will you find a quality prop auction with a 10% buyers premium and so many cool items. I see some of the concerns raised based on the items not being shipped to the auction house prior to the auction, however what about the positive side of this? It enables so many lower priced items to be included in these auctions and has the potential to bring so much more to the market.

For the low to medium end collectors I think these type of innovations should be welcomed. I have known Paulie for many years and he has always gone above and beyond in any dealings I've had with him. He is one of the nicest people in the prop game and his involvement in this makes me a believer.

I picked up a few items at the first auction and I'm looking forward to the next one. I hope this leads to bigger and better things for these guys, they have access to great items and deserve every success with this venture

Congrats to Paulie and TPC for their first auction . I had last minute consigned a few items and had an 80 percent sell through . I too am looking forward to the next auction . As a collector it is always nice to see other venues to purchase from .

I don't know a thing about their prop and wardrobe auctions but regarding Disney merch. since you brought it up...

This auction ended on Feb 1rst. They've been known to sell one (sometimes more) of these a month.

Look, we all know the Mansion isn't shedding caretaker signs (much less resin) every few weeks yet the title boasts "original." The description goes on to read, This is the "Caretaker" sign used at the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disney-Prop...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

This is a common resin pull of a caretaker plaque and nothing more. This is exactly the sort of thing that has raised eyebrows among educated collectors.

Don't get me wrong. I don't begrudge anyone making a buck, but there's quite a bit of sizzle on that description. Nothing wrong with selling replicas as far as I'm concerned, just make it clear that's what it is. They used the same description on every gate plaque they've sold too.
