Fingers crossed that this one will make up for the God awful Wolverine Origins flick. Cautiously optimistic as I preordered my tickets. Liking the reviews so far.

seen it today at midnight premiere.
i thought it was bad. way better than the first wolverine movie, but still bad

everything was flat, the story was predictable, and the bad guys were the worst ive seen in any movie ever.

rest will be in spoiler tags
srsly, viper and silver samurai. viper does nothing all movie long except poison some random guys. and then she gets dropped off a floor in a glass japanese building that is apparently only floors to drop people down off, and no function. and then she is all scaly, cuts herself and tears off her skin (you know, supposed to be a snake), and all that changes is that she now is bald. thats about it.
silver samura is a ****ing suit made of adamantium that can cut adamantium. he cuts wolverines claws off. and at the end of the battle, wolverine apparently doesnt care its adamantium, and just tears pieces off the suit. with his bare hands. also he now has only bone claws.
srsly, the story was so bad, i cant even begin to start. nothing really interesting, not even the fight scenes.
i wouldnt watch it in cinemas, its fine for rental, but even for me, who got a free ticket, i thought o well i couldve spent that time better

the best thing was the after credits scene, which was a lot better than the rest of the movie

Please tell me you are joking about what Silver Samurai did to Wolverine.

Son of a *****...Yeah, just read it in the after credits scene. Oh well, guess I'll have to see it for myself.

Above average but unremarkable X-Men movie. Make sure you stay after the credits, best after credits scene of all time!

I have to say I liked it. Way, way better than Origins, it definitely had a heart (ha ha) and it tried to challenge the usual “comic” format (except towards the end). It went for thoughtful rather than epic, it was somewhat predictable, but not entirely, and the character interaction was a cut above the usual scripting. Mariko was as elegantly beautiful as I’d imagined her to be and her “sister” was quite the martial arts athlete (not certain about the pop socks make over though). Old Logan gets through some stunning (if short lived) girlfriends, even if death doesn’t seem to be the barrier we all expect it to be sometimes.
Lots of action, obviously levelled at the Far Eastern fans, which seems to be the kick this year. Given how much better the international box office seems to be rewarding films that stay out of the US I think this is a trend that is going to stick.
I was never bored by it ,but it could have done with being a bit more bloody and adult (but then that would have punched it squarely in the box office peak season) and it surprised me the way they took it towards the end . Got to say the end credits gave me the most chills of anticipation .The moment Trask Industries appeared on the TV and the all the metal objects started to jump you hoped immediately what was going to happen and it was a cheering relief when it did.

It was worth a viewing, although very predictable. 3D is not worth the price, see it in 2D if you go. The bullet train scene is great and well for that matter all the action scenes were good. I didn't mind the lack of abundance in regards to mutants. Wolvie and Ninjas is just fine by me. The Jean Grey scenes were highly odd for me, but I mean, come on. Jean Grey in nighties...mmmk, so I'll give them a pass.

I felt the film could have done just fine without snake lady. I'd give this flick 4.5 out of 10. It will wash the sour taste of Origins out of your mouth...so it's got that going for it ;)

Staying for the extra scene with Xavier and Magneto is a MUST.

I really enjoyed it!

I thought it was intelligently paced, had some great set-pieces and some real 'heart'. Almost Bond-esque, which I didn't expect in a Wolverine flick. A nice lead-in to the next X-MEN movie.

I quite liked Origins, but this is a better experience overall.

As has been said, the after credits scene is...awesome. Bring it on! :)

I imagine the lack of mutants in The Wolverine is a response to the negativity regarding the overabundance of mutants in Last Stand and Origins.

4.5 out of 10? REALLY? So you thought it sucked??? It had blood, a great story with well balanced action and humor, I LOVED it. Best X-Men film period. Everybody in the theater clapped after it was over.

Just my humble opinion, Bub. As I said, I felt it was worth a viewing. For me the Jean Grey scenes fell flat. Did not see the point of her randomly showing up in lingerie. Snake woman was just awful. I wanted a much more painful and interesting death for her. I did feel Jackman delivered a solid comic book Wolverine though. In the theater I went to, I did not hear clapping and it was nearly full...until the after credit scene, at which point point most had left the theater.

I would still recommend this film to any Wolverine fan. If you read the comics, or have any love for the character, your going to have a good time.

I'm seeing it tonight, and have hope from the mostly positive reviews. As for the out-of-place aspect of Jean Grey in her lingerie, I take it as its in Logan's mind. It's not too far of a stretch to have Famke appear to me in my mind dressed like that.

Heavy Future: The Wolverine finds the balance of berserk and heart

The Wolverine was good and surprisingly so grounded with its approach to the story and characters for a major portion of the film. Though it's not exactly an faithful adaptation, the movie gives nods to the 1982 Wolverine comic by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, while borrowing certain elements from it and expands on them.

This is Hugh Jackman's 6th time (5 movies and a cameo) portraying the character of Logan and he still brings something fresh to the character along with his badass charm to it. Both Mariko and Yukio played by Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima were good supporting characters, especially with Mariko I was secretly hoping they would go with the comic ending panel.

The story is pretty straightforward but still manages to bring in some intrigue and moments of suspense in midst of the action. For most parts at least until the end, director James Mangold made sure that it doesn't feel like the action is driving the story, thus the action played out quite organic to the story.

The Wolverine is a solid and worthy entry into the X-Men saga and the mid credits scene just builds up the excitement for the next chapter.
