I hear that, I am just overwhelmed with how many cool features it has and at the price point! One of the things I like is how the memory disc' eject and are inserted. Very innovative.
Again, I think that's in the gray area between faithful prop replica and idealized futuristic equipment. They clearly erred toward the latter on this feature, and I don't disagree. I grant that I'm heavily biased toward TWC because of their past performance on the phaser and comm and because I know they're fanboys too. So that's my six cents' worth (raised from two cents to account for inflation). So much to love in their latest TOS addition but what personally makes me cringe is the ratcheting cover as you open the Tricorder! Should be smooth until the open position, then maybe another notch for the extreme open position, not as many as I see and hear when they swivel the hood.
I'd love to see a phaser reissue too, but that's probably a circuit board redesign (because the components are 10 years out of date) and maybe retooling the whole P1 to accommodate that, so I'm not holding my breath.I still need a phaser but no way I'm going to pay ebay prices. Maybe they will eventually put out another run. I bet we will see a scanner next to go with the tricorder. I thought I heard Chris hint at it when he was talking about the divider in the bottom compartment but that could have been my misheard interpretation.
Wow. I was really hoping to buy two. Oh, well, maybe if/when it hits brick and mortar retailers...The Wand Co. posted that there are no medical graphics or functions and they will be limiting these to one per person.
I now believe Godot will come after.
Perhaps we get it before Christmas??

Bummer was hoping to buy two. I will wait for the second batch then.Wow. I was really hoping to buy two. Oh, well, maybe if/when it hits brick and mortar retailers...

I suspect there will be a lot of FOMO-driven straw purchases...Here comes the FOMO panic and the rise in stress levels for some…

At first, I thought that, too, but upon a repeat viewing I think that was wishful thinking (hearing?) on my part. In the Your Geek Fix video, Chris said, "The dividers themselves, we don't sell this product with the medical tricorder part, but the dividers have recesses in them that will fit the standard medical tricorder part if you want to make your own or or get one somewhere else."I bet we will see a scanner next to go with the tricorder. I thought I heard Chris hint at it when he was talking about the divider in the bottom compartment but that could have been my misheard interpretation.
Yeah I got the email from your reply and the confirmation of my re-register at nearly the exact same momentI would re-register. I had stopped getting emails as well so I just went back to the site and re-input info and voila I started receiving updates again.
No, they've ruled that out. It doesn't fit with their company mission of producing replicas that have a real function, and it's too niche to mass-produce. Looks like fleabay is the prime resource for that for the foreseeable future.I still need a phaser but no way I'm going to pay ebay prices. Maybe they will eventually put out another run. Awesome that's great!Yeah I got the email from your reply and the confirmation of my re-register at nearly the exact same moment
I watched the entire video and kept saying to myself "how do you turn on the scanning sound"? What on earth are they thinking not including that?It REALLY has to have the scanning noise. Can you imagine the Tricorder with all this functionality, yet it doesn't have the basic sound we want from it? (In conjunction with our phaser and communicator.)
I also notice in the videos that he hasn't mentioned the SD Card slot, which you can see on the left side of the hood.
