The Walking Dead Show Discussion - with potential spoilers

I read someplace that the zombies actually had some memories of their old lives. That's what would freak me out the most that would be interesting to cover: what if since the brain is still active the person is aware of what's going on the entire time but is unable to do anything. it would be like being in a coma and knowing everything that is happening around you.

I think the Doc made it pretty clear, that based on the very limited brain function...they are only reacting off of very primal instincts (feeding). As far as memories go, I would also say the Walkers are merely acting off of instict. Kind of like when you reach for a pen or open a door. Not much thought involved in reaching you right/left hand. And we are creatures of habbit.

I do like that the Doc also stated that reanimation times vary from person to person. Some people in minutes, others in as long as a day.

Potential spoiler.

The Dr. told Rick his wife was preggers.

Possibly even that it was his buddy officer ******* that was the father. (They need to start of next season on the Maury show)

Rick... you are NOT the father. :p

Potential? Is this a true spoiler or speculation?

I think it's interesting that the zombies breathe - I noticed it mainly when Amy "revived." I would assume, based on the finale, that it's instinctive - the brain stem automatically gets the lungs going even though the body doesn't need to anymore.

I was thinking the same thing too, then I realized that you need to breathe in order to smell, which these zombies do..

And maybe if that was in fact an army chopper, they did try to contact the CDC, but like the Doc said, he was in the dark for a month, and all forms of communication has been down

They have to breathe to do the moaning too.

I agree with everyone else, in that the Doc told Rick that his wife was pregnant. I also think it plausible, with all those security cameras that he told Rick that his Buddy got that scratch on his neck from trying to rape his wife.

I am surprised that nothing has come to fruition in regards to the Army chopper Rick saw when he first went to Atlanta.

I didnt think of that about the cameras catching Shane trying to Rape Rick's wife..He did say something pretty long into his ear..."your wife's preggers" takes a second...now i wonder if you are right. (which we might not know since they have new writers coming in...new writers=new ideas)

I was hoping Rick would tell Jenner about the helicopter and some-what try to convince him to keep on trying for his wife. Maybe download the research data and pass it onto other doctors that might still be alive..but i guess that is asking too much...

I wish someone at the end had shouted 'Mother - turn the damn coolant system back on! You b it ch!'

Great, great, great news! Kirkman confirmed that Hershels family and Michonne will be seen next season. For those of you that read the comics, you know this is awesome! I can't wait to see Michonne kick some. Oh, and the finale broke all kinds of records! hopefully this means we will not have to wait all the way till next October for the new season.

While I am loving the series, I find that I enjoy the zombie sequences the most. Just wish they would add more of it. The first 2 episodes had a fair amount of this, but not so much since those, just tiny scenes.
I also think I'd like to see more flashbacks. I liked the sequence with Shane going back to the hospital for him. A reason for little more action & zombies. I think it would've been a little better if there were a containment of zombies in the CDC that got out once the power got low, it would have added to the tension. Instead we get a timer, bulletproof glass and about 4-5 zombies out on the lawn.

I found a Wiki for "The Walking Dead", that covers both the comics and the show. It's got some useful info if you are unfamiliar or not fully familiar with the comics: Walking Dead Wiki

I deliberately steered away from this thread during the season because I work on the night it comes on and always had to watch it on dvr. Now that the season is over, I have to say that this was a great show. My son and I watched every episode and it turned out to be our favorite new show. However, the finale sucked, and I hope they don't bring the CDC back into it again...ever.

Dunno if anyone saw this, but it looks like Charlie Sheen will have a cameo in the next season as a zombie.

It would be pretty wild if anyone on this forum wins a walk on zombie role next season. I'm curious to see how next season opens. When the show ended, did not look like Rick knew where to go, and remember he told the Doc that they were almost out of gas, and let's not forget the RV is in bad shape.

Maybe they should... IDK...

SYPHON SOME GAS OUT OF THE BILLIONS OF CARS SITTING EVERYWHERE???

I Know what you are going to say... "but Ken the zombies would get em!"

Umm... drive till you see a clearing. a parking lot. Something where you can see for miles yet there are cars. They managed to STEAL THE challenger right?

And those tanks that are EVERYWHERE... didn't he make it into one already? And the military ARMORED CONVOYS... ALL THOSE ARE OUT OF DIESEL?

sshhhh, don't tell them that, they might do it.

besides all the times i've yelled at the T.V to tell em what to do, i've enjoyed the show. I can see why they did the CDC thing, I also thought the grenade out of the purse was funny as hell. Bet she kept it next to the lip balm. The season finale also doubled as the series finale i suppose, in case they weren't picked up for a second season. I also thought, why the hell didn't he save the research on a jump drive or something, just in case. Who the hell knows.

Hopefully the second season will get here sooner than later!

My guess would be that the explosion would attract nearly every walker in the city. They would need to try and get as far away as possible with what they have fuel wise before stopping to steal a new vehicle or syphon some gas.

What really grinds my gears is that you never see them picking up any weapons, surely when the were walking through to the CDC, they could have picked up a few from the dead soldiers.
