The Walking Dead Season 5 Discussion (Spoilers)

I said the same thing about Gabriel's shirt. I wonder if it was a continuity error? The other thing that bugs me is Daryl riding a motorcycle. That's the worst vehicle in the apocalypse ever. It would be one thing if he had an electric version like U.S. Specops uses, but a normal bike is so freaking noisy that it's going to attract the attention of every human and walker nearby.

For people who wanted more people to die, they've already killed off four of the main cast just this season. Bob, Tyrese, Beth, and Noah.

The wife and I were laughing about that. She said he needs a Prius.
Sometimes I walk the dog before most people are up and it is amazing how far away I can hear vehicles. I can hear a hog or even a big rig on the freeway almost a couple of miles away. Of course, the Governor was 'sneaking' up on the prison in a beefy truck a couple of seasons ago, too.

I think it was intentionally symbolic that he was wearing a white shirt that remained "untainted" despite what he had done. His shirt, like him during the early apocalypse, came away unscathed from his "sins"

Or maybe it signals the potential for redemption? On the other hand, he's a black, male former cast member from The Wire, so his days may be numbered regardless...

I agree the motorcycle would be a terrible option when you need to be quiet. In the summer, my neighbor takes off on his Harley at 6:00 AM everyday. It wakes me up everyday, and I can hear him for miles.

If you don't need to be quiet, they are perfect. Great mileage, and great maneuverability.

Shocked that none of you brought up the instant day to night special. Rick finds the gate open during the day and runs off looking. Yet only finds the zombies at night. Plus he didn't call it out to anyone that zombies thugs are up inside the walls. They live in area the size of a normal city block I would say. Yet No one even saw the zombies walking around? Come on now..mainly cause the zombies go towards noise. I think they would hear more crap than just barking dogs around there. Silly

oh and morgan was stupid. Yes, every life is precious. But crazy ass fools that try to kill you need to go. How many times did those 2+ Do that to others? Answer a lot. So take them cause they are useless.. Now they killed little red riding good.

It wasn't really day, it was dusk. The sun can set pretty quickly. The townspeople were all headed to the meeting, so they were on one side of the town while everything else was happening on the other. We haven't seen the full scope of Alexandria, but I would say it's bigger than a block.

I don't think that a motorcycle is necessarily a bad choice for running in a post-apocalyptic world like The Walking Dead, it's just a hog like the ones Daryl favors is a bad idea because they are so loud. A regular street bike of low to middle range displacement wouldn't be too bad, very fuel efficient and maneuverable without making a lot of noise. Of course some sort of hybrid like a Prius would be great or even better would be an all electric like a Tesla, at least for as long as the grid remains up and you stay in area with charging stations readily available. The worst, to go along with choppers, would be old muscle cars and those rice burners with the fart mufflers that some kids seem to favor, those would attract a lot of walkers to you without fail.

The official site had a virtual map of the compound up and it didn't appear to be much bigger than a small residential block. It could be though that that was all they put online since putting virtual walkthroughs of all the homes would be kinda pointless.

My guess is that Alexandria is one of those little residential developments of a few dozen homes or so. You see lots of little developments like Alexandria in LA where you see a bunch of houses together with no other residential developments nearby. Some of these, particularly the ones you see when you leave LA and get out into the boonies more, would actually be pretty decent for a Walking Dead type scenario since a bunch of them are walled off, maybe not gated but definitely walled in leaving only a couple of ways in and out thus making it much easier to defend and block off against walkers.

Have not seen this Season, I have seen pics of the set.

Is this supposed to be Alexandria Va.?

I'm going to have fun with that season then.

That is my hometown, can't wait to see the license taking with reality! :lol

The set is not far from where "Woodberry" is was.

I have been down in Senoia once and seen a lot of the locations

Supposed to be, but not actually filmed there.

Yeah but a 4 stroke Enduro bike would be badass. And way quite than a harley

The same argument can be made for every vehicle in the show, for crying out loud! Remember, the world of The Walking Dead doesn't have any of that background noise of traffic like it used to, so you'd probably attract just as much noise with any vehicle (there have been some examples in the comics where the dead have been attracted to roads due to motor vehicles of all types). Besides, the same argument can be made about Daryl and his bike since the start of Season 2....

But, people don't seem to mind it...

Besides, if you're going fast, it's going to be hard for a Walker to catch any vehicle, including a bike, let alone long enough for Walkers to get to the road to catch them. Now, if he was sitting and idling loud, then it'd be a problem
