The Walking Dead Season 4

Yeah, I hate to say it but I fell asleep while watching it. This second half the season
is really slow. Not sure if it is because they are only focusing on two or three people at once.
They should jump around to the different groups ion each episode so it doesn't seem so
slow. I have to catch this again next week to see what I missed.

If they have thought out episodes past with the series finale, the injured kid they took as prisoner, the guys Rick killed in the bar, the hitchhiker... all could be related to the safe haven the group seems to be heading towards which I suspect would have a shop named "Things & Stuff".

In regards to Daryl grabbing the valuables, he seemed to have reverted back to his pre-zombipacolypse self up to the end of the episode where he again becomes docile Daryl.

Should also add kudos to the trunk scene. It was suspense, not just gore porn and head stabs. Suspense is whats been greatly missing in the WD yet there are opportunities for it at every turn.

I don't read the comic so I don't know if the source material is much better, but I think the show would be better if they moved somewhere else and experienced new places and things... or better yet, kill off the majority of the group and force the survivors to find themselves a new group or be the people trying to survive without a group, hopping from house to house, town to town.

I'm losing interest fast and the appeal of the zombies is even diminishing.

Having said that, I'm glad they're not going in the direction of trying to study, teach, or evolve the zombies. I'm glad they're still just zombies and not becoming something more than a threat, roadblock, and/or obstacle.

He did use a bundle of cash to light the house on fire. :)

He seems too smart just to haul that crap around for no reason. I just cannot think of a reason for why he would, yet.

I agree. When Beth asked why he was taking it, I told my Mom and Dad, "He's gonna use the cash for firestarter." I think the diamonds can be used as for fishing (I remember something similar being done in Alfred Hitchcock's Lifeboat). My Mom suggested he's saving the gold because after a while, something has to be used as value for bartering (and both my Dad and Mom cited how Gold and Silver pieces were used thousands of years ago before paper cash came to be, which I don't think would be the case for the WD universe).

Yeah gold and silver might hold value, but in that scenario the things worth money will be ammo, guns, fuel, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. I bet some smoker would trade you a nice gun for a pack of cigarettes if they couldn't find any! If you were a bad guy or had no morals you could add women in there too.

I would think the currency for the WD world would definitely be ammo. Of course, if you trade all your ammo for food with someone, they can just blast you and take their food back. Oops.

Well, I have all nine of the hard back graphic novels setting on my end table. I've read the first book. I could skip forward to see where were basically heading. I don't want to really as the show does not obviously follow the books that close. But it would give me an indication of what's coming up.

Some observations and opinions-
We can't have a major zombie attack/show down every episode.
You have to figure there will be down time where they run into nothing for a while.
There needs to be some major plot advancement soon.
The zombie kills are getting boring, but of course zombies are dumb.
There needs to be more jumps/scares. Zombies slowly walking around a corner is getting boring.
The group needs to meet back up.
Some new goal on what to do to survive and fortify needs to happen.
Lets procreate!

Shane would have killed the gov from the start and had a beer. Everyone would be happy and alive..well until the episode

Spending time on character building, injecting humour and suspense and getting out of single location shooting.

Bad Walking Dead!

It amazes me all the talk of how slow an episode this was. If this weren't a tv show with zombies, that would've been given awards. I think it
was a powerful episode... Full of raw emotion. It was a relatable story with real character development. There were moments I was uncomfortable because it was so real and others I had tears in my eyes... Very moving.

And that is what I'm saying, not every episode is going to be a knock down, drag out fight type of episode. There are going to be moments (episodes) that are purely character driven. And that's fine with me. I just want something scary, I mean zombies are supposed to be scary, right?

Yeah, the zombies scenes in that episode were pretty tame and not very suspenseful. The trunk scene was good, but the rest just seemed gratuitous and lackluster. There was not much sense of danger when they supposedly said they were trying to make the zombies more of a threat this season.

Perhaps you missed all the people the walkers killed at the prison...

One of the best episodes of the series. An excellent and genuinely frightening opening in the trunk, followed by moving, interesting character development (as opposed to some of the platitudinous blather Herschel often spouted that ground the show to a halt). Outstanding television. I literally can not wrap my head around why anyone would bemoan character development--if we don't care about the characters, how can we really get emotionally invested in the danger they face. As for complaining about how impractical it is to get drunk with zombies around, I say that someone who has never risked humiliation, firing, relationships, or death to do something irresponsible is boring and dead inside and I hope they stay on their side of the room.
