The Walking Dead Season 4

Y'know everyone's talking about how Rick set up a delayed ambush, or how suspenseful the house full of unwanted guests was, but y'know what I liked about this latest episode?

We're seeing some great character development from Michonne. She's accepted Rick, Carl, and the others as her family now, and is a lot less of the unfeeling machine she was at the beginning.

Agreed, it's nice to see the lighter, human side of Michonne.

Speaking of unwanted house guests, anyone else think that we might see more of those guys later? With the Governor gone the show needs a villain and those guys seem like they'd fit the bill quite nicely, plus, I think that the one on the porch was played by Jeff Kober who's played more than a few bad guys in the past.

That was indeed Jeff Kober.

With a great character actor like Jeff Kober, yeah, we'll be seeing him again. You don't sign someone like that as a one-shot cameo role. Although, he's only listed for this one episode. Hopefully it's not a one-shot, as that would be a wasted opportunity.

Yes, especially since one of them, the guy on the porch that Rick comes close to killing, is played by Jeff Kober.

Question for the comic book readers:

Have we gone past the point in the plot where they come across the community of cannibals? Ages since I read the book. That would be fun to see in the show.

Heh, I'll bet there are more than a few straight-up GENIUSES in the world, who have absolutely NO commonsense/situational-awareness whatsoever.

I know more than a few myself. Geniuses tend to have a higher proportion of people on the Autism spectrum disorder, specifically with Asberger's type deficiencies. They have all the book smarts in the world but cannot relate to other people well, nor exhibit basic understanding of street smarts or common sense.

Well, if it's anything like the comic, I'd say the mullet works extremely well on you guys ! The explanation for it is exactly this : wearing a mullet hides the fact that he's intelligent and knowledgable, nobody's going to believe he's a genius if he looks like a redneck. You guys just proved it works.

I agree with this, as the guy was still breathing. The guy Rick killed in the bathroom is the one that turned, and Rick left the door cracked so that when he did, it could be used for a distraction. It seemed like it was taking too long, but the distraction finally kicked in, and Rick was able to get Carl and Michonne to safety.

Except when the zombie attacked I thought I heard someone inside yelling "get her!"

The Walking Dead has changed quite a few things from the comics, the most notable (without any spoilers) being that:

- Andrea not only survives, but winds up being Rick's girlfriend after a relationship with Dale (seems like everyone is sleeping with everyone else in the comics).

- Dale survives until the prison, and his basic story of amputation was given to Hershel (seems like they did a lot of mishmashing of characters).

- Lori does not die in childbirth. She is instead shot in the back and killed by Lilly Caul (Chambers in the show) during The Governor's assault on the prison. As she dies, she falls and crushes Judith, who was in her arms at the time.

As an aside... anyone else finding little Lizzie Samuels to be bat-guano, serial-killer crazy?

After this week's discussion of bicycles (and their relative lack of use) I got so excited when the house Rick escaped from had one in the front yard. There was a shot where it looked like Rick was going to make a dash for the bike as a way to get out of there fast, and I was really hoping we would see a smart move by him. Then he ran right past it, and the three of them set off on foot. I must admit my disappointment.

here is a picture of an actual genius, sometimes I feel like its the movie Twins as my brother and I look nothing alike:

My wife said the same thing.

I think he just wants bodyguards. Maybe he's just a smart gym teacher. :)

As soon as Abraham said Eugene was going to save the human race my wife said "Great, salvation comes with a mullet."

I liked the tension, but if I'm going to continue to enjoy the show, I'm just going to have to let go of logic. Little things like siphoning gas out of cars to use in a diesel truck. Or Rick not going for the M-16 when he had the chance. Or everyone walking right down the middle of the road for miles, not even bothering to check the houses they're passing for vehicles.

It's gonna be what it's gonna be. Woo-sah.

Oh, and the "scientist?" No way.
