I love the Walking Dead - almost all of it. Character development is necessary (though I love an epic zombie scene as much as the next guy) - I'm glad that they made the governor so multi-faceted! Hate him? Love him? Hate him?

The governor is a full-fledged bad guy, no ifs and buts with him.

I do love the Walking dead but hated the first two seasons tbh. Seriously, Daryl carried that show through the first two seasons. Rick was ok but Lori...ugh. I must say season 3 and 4 were such huge improvements to the series .

Btw, I think baby zombies would be terrible in real life. Although they have the "adult fear" factor going for them, they barely have the ability to lift their heads, let alone chase after any living person to bite to eat. Since it is dead cells reanimated...somehow, there is no new cell generation to allow the babies to grow into any kind of threat. They would just be squishy footballs for punting, for lack of a better word.

Just saw mid-season finale. Wow, what an episode. Probably the best episode in the entire series. So powerful.

Everyone is infected with the viruse. You die, you change. Ok. So the body lacks oxygen. So oxygen keeps the viruse at bay.
Makes sense. Herschel stopped breathing (died) and Lori gave CPR. Herschel's back.
Now thought: is the viruse nuetralized and you can bite me all you want, I ain't changing.
Or did it go back to being dormant and I'll change later?? And I have baby theories too,,, that to, later.

The virus cannot be neutralized. You die, you come back. Period. Hershel came back because Lori applied CPR, thereby keeping him from dying. Oxygen does not keep the virus at bay. Oxygen just keeps you alive.

You get bit, you die, you come back as a Walker.
You die by anything other than of a bullet to the head, crushing in of the head or a cutting open of the head, you come back as a Walker.
You stop breathing through normal means, you die and come back as a Walker. It's not avoidable.

There is limited to no information on the actual virus. We only know a few things:

1) everyone is infected
2) when you day from means other than your brain being pulverized, you come back as a walker
3) getting bit by a walker seems to expedite death through a fever. This may be a side effect and not the virus itself

We dont know much about the virus because there are few people working on a cure. The top agency that deals with global diseases, the CDC, blew itself up and there is not much in terms of a medical community that we are aware of in the walking dead. There very well may be several groups of doctors and researchers studying the virus for a cure but for the main cast, what is important is not finding a cure but surviving in this new world. The important thing is the virus turns the dead into walkers and everyone is infected.

I hope this show is wise enough to have a real resolution at the end, even if it deviates significantly from the comics. What I'm talking about is something like the discovery of a cure, or the origin of the infection, or some way to wipe out the zombies with a high frequency sound. Something that resolves an issue, or answers an important question. I would hate for the show to become The Chronicles of Redundant **** Every Season. It's already getting a little redundant.

Season 1 is the introduction of the zombie world, and ends on a very gripping high note about the zombie research.

Season 2 is about the discovery of a peaceful place to live, run by a peaceful man.

Season 3 is about Woodbury, which is a lot like Hershel's farm, except The Governor is a villainous psychopath.

Season 4 so far is just chaos, with no progression in the overall plot of the show. It doesn't seem like anything is being moved forward; everything is just being shuffled around. As of the mid-season finale, Rick's group has been crippled back down to the level they were in Season 1; and with the Governor dead, it's as though Season 3 never even happened. Seasons 2 and 3 have been rendered irrelevant.

I have a bad feeling that radio transmission is probably coming from one of those Woodburry-like communities (there are several in the comics). And if that's the case, the plot is not likely to progress - it'll just rehash an idea that's already been visited.

As for the CDC guy confirming the zombies were global, I honestly don't remember.

Jenner here. It's Day 194 since Wildfire was declared and 63 days since the disease abruptly went global. There's no clinical progress to report. Item: I finally got the scrubbers in the east sector shut down to save power. Wish I could have done it a month ago, but it took me how long to figure it out. Too bad I never studied engineering. Could have saved a lot of amps. Item: Still not sleeping well. Can't seem to keep regular hours. Living underground doesn't help; not knowing if it's day or night. Just...feeling very...off.

Most have died from trauma and/or blood loss. There are some that have been seen bitten in all versions of TWD that didn't have bleed to death. Jim, a member of the Atlanta group, was bitten (in both the comic and the show) and continued to live a while after being bitten. Morgan's wife was another one. Lee Everett in the Telltale Walking Dead game. And there are those who were bitten, but other trauma ended up killing them, such as Allan in the comic (he suffered a leg bite and leg severing similar to Hershel in the show. He, however, died from a combination of the blood loss and the fever).

There are a small number of the bite scenes, in all versions of the WD story that aren't just mauling and ripping out chunks of human flesh.

If its anything like the comics, my money's on it being the ASZ or HT.

My guess is that we'll see another violent group in the area--like the one that attacked that campsite to steal their supplies.

Am I reading into it too much or did the governor have something to do with decapitations at the survivalists' cabin? One headless body had a sign on it that said "Liar" and another said "Rapist" (then I thought maybe it was Michonne's handiwork). He did seem surprised at the 1st headless body but keeping the heads on the floor sounded like him. The big thing is he yelled "Liar" right before hacking Hershel in the neck with the sword.

That's an interesting observation, but I don't think the writers of the show are creative enough to tie it together like that.
