The Walking Dead Season 4

I've been wondering if some of this hasn't been partially orchestrated by the Governor as a way to secure the prison. Set the people inside it against each other while simultaneously begin sabotaging the perimeter fence. Then he can roll in, clear out the "biters" and take over. The loony girl feeding "Nick" could be a valid theory, but it could also be a red herring for someone else who thinks Rick and his people can't be trusted, or who was simply loyal to the Governor and wanted to control the prison or even just get revenge for destroying Woodbury.

Quite frankly the TV show Governor hasn't shown that level of planning of sophistication. I can't imagine there's anyone in the prison who would follow any orders from him after he gunned down the rest of the group that attacked the prison. I think people are making him out to be more dangerous and cunning than he's been portrayed on TV.

Yeah, that's a fair point. I'm just trying to anticipate the writers pulling a fast one on us. I suppose one explanation might be that the Governor managed to corrupt the girl -- they both shared an unusual...affinity for walkers, tending to humanize them beyond what was sane.

Frankly, I hadn't been all that excited to see the new episodes so it took until tonight to watch them.

I'm (back) in. Whole hog. :)

I'm with Kerr on this one ... I think you're still giving the Governor too much credit. Yes, (according to the TV show) he's a manipulative, sadistic, psychopath, but he also used some of that as a coping method after losing his family so he could create some structure and try to make sense out of chaos. I'm not sure after massacreing his guys he has the presence of mind to lead pys-ops against the prison group.

Also, Lizzie is just a seriously screwed up little girl ... Seems to be suffering from a variation of Stockholm syndrome where she's both empathetic and sympathetic to the zombie "plight". She tries to humanize them by naming and feeding them in a demented hope they'll somehow regain their humanity or at least become domesticated.

On that note, one of my favorite Z movies ... "Fido" with Bruce Campbell is both hilarious and a completely rational outcome for dealing with zombie hords. :lol

All that could be the case as well. I just don't think we've seen the last of the Governor interacting with the Rick's group of survivors.

Those that wondering happens in the comic, please just read them. The story has changed so much that it hardly matters at this point. Plus it stops you from getting upset if someone drops something in here by mistake. I do enjoy reading what some people think is gonna happen or what's might have happened in the a characters past.

I'm gonna guess that Rick and crew will just run into gov and his band of unmerry men in the woods...nothing crazy calculated at all. Just walking into a oh crap..look who the cat dragged in moment.

I agree and feel the Governor should not make an appearance moving against Rick's group this season.
After massacring his own men I could not see him surviving in the presence of those two witnesses. They didn't appear to be stupid enough to follow the guy very long. For a period of time the Gov is going to have basic day to day survival issues. Last week's clip of Darryl on the road showed just how many walkers are still out there!

What I would like to see is the story leave Rick's group for a while and give us a checkup on the Governor..

I don't think that would be good, it would ruin the suspense that we currently have wondering if the Governor is still alive and, if so, what he's up to. From a storytelling perspective the less we see of the Governor until his path intersects with that of Rick & co. the better, that way when he finally does show up it will be a big "oh crap!, he is still alive!" moment.

seems its all obvious someone is attracting walkers from a larger outside metro area (say maybe Macon) as evident from the scene involving the car and the one hundred thousand walker march. The time frame is perfect for this from last season to this season. Its highly possible the Gov simply repurposed Merle's car stereo gag on a grand scale while using small animals to keep them somewhat on target. With the "he killed his own people" discussion, he actually didnt as those were prior outsiders. In Gov psychopath theory you fight to live or you are useless. His two cronies hands were already dirtier than the Gov's own hands, perfect match and he trusted them, seems thats mutual trust. Im more or less wondering if those warped little girls or at least one of them was conditioned to be friends with the gov's zombie daughter while at Woodbury.

Bruce Campbell wasn't in fido.

I had to go look it up now ... You're right it was Billy Connelly. That's what I get for relying on my memory.

I actually had to double check myself. My DVD was stolen a while back so I haven't had a chance to watch it but if there's two things I love in my movies, it's the chin and zombies. So when you said that the record scratched for a second and I jumped on Google. Billy Connolly killed it in that role.

Once again, I think that's giving the Governor a little too much credit; based on the way that he's presented in the show he's really not that much of a schemer or a plotter, he was a charmer for certain and seemed to rely more on a bit of cunning but elaborate plots didn't seem to be his thing. For the most part what we saw the Governor do was react to a situation and do his best to put on a good face and do damage control but he never seemed to have any real long range plots or schemes or even cleverly conceived plans, he simply reacts to the situation at hand.

As far as the Governors chief goons, I think it's safe to say that after the mass shooting of his people they're having serious second thoughts about the Governor and their loyalty to him. If they're still loyal to him at this point it would be only out of fear, fear of being shot if they showed any sign of disloyalty or likelihood of deserting him, not because they respect him or because they feel some sort of connection because of what they've done for and because of him. Judging by their expressions I'd say that if they could they would leave the Governor the first chance they got and take their chances elsewhere without him.

I would love a To see that the Gov to be gunned down in 2 mins of screen time by his goons. Mainly by his right hand man, the dude with the bat. Doing so shows that they are not like him and would join the group. Plus it would be funny cause so many people are all hyped over the gov and what he is doing these days.

Even if martinez and the other guy made an example of the governor and shot him outside the gates of the prison, there is no way in hell that rick and the others would let them join the group.

Maybe if he/they save one or more of the groups life. Never know they might be the wild card that rides in and helps them escape a zombie prison break in. They lived with those town people before, so they kinda have a bound with a few.

They were involved in the attack, even if they handed the Governor over to Rick to execute himself they'd never be let in.

And Rick would be right to distrust them.

Hmmm...wasn't the chick that got toasted / black dudes gf part of the attack group? She only survived the slaughter by hiding under a dead body. Plus those two ( brother n sister team) that guarded the town during the attack that Rick kicked out before are in the group now. sorry cant recall their names at the moment. Just cause the leader is Crazed D bag, doesn't make you one. Sometimes it better to stay silent and play along than get mowed down by a loon. Maybe Rick and gang might not have a choice to but join forces with Martinez to survive something. Just curious is all of what changes are being done since they took a hard left from the comic.

I can't believe those two just watched the governor mow those people down. Any decent person would have shot him right in the head. I hope all three get eaten slowly.
