The Walking Dead Season 4

Well, again... this show just isn't working for me anymore. I just heard a great piece on the radio that echoed my sentiments almost completely.... More Governer!?!? Yet another showdown!? Argh... I want to quit watching, but like a an accident, I can't help but not look away.

Yeah I'm with you. I'm just waiting for the fonz to show up to confirm it. What happened to people dying and changing over to a zombie in like 5 mins or less? You kill the dude in the trailer, walk over to see his brother. Have a smoke break and coffee talk. Wrap the body up. Take it to the lake to make a special guest appearance of aquaman. Doesn't change into a zombie..until when??

When the Gov gets out and stands on the tank. Just whip out a sniper rifle, blow a new eye socket in his head. Tell the people that dude was plain nuts and attacked us before, lost and then gunned down 20+ people for running away. Idk, some things need to change ASAP. Bring on the Steven segal look alike.

Umm, there's actually no precedent set for ^this^. Andrea's sister was dead all night before she reanimated. It varies from incident to incident.

BUT, I agree, killing Phillibrivenor before any hostilities occur, should be a piece of cake. Unless the premise is that there's really no one there with good enough aim.

Which would be just - - - sad.

Yeah, but then you still have a bunch of guys who think the governor is good, and they still have a tank ! Why should they believe Rick's group about him being completely insane ? We know it, we've seen it, they didn't ! Those who found out about him are already dead.... Aside from the brother perhaps, but he strikes me more as a shoot first, talk later kinda guy so...
The best bet would be to make him show everybody who he really is, then you put a bullet in his head.

That's exactly what I said last night. Of course they don't know whether the tank is armed anymore or not.

I'm more ticked that that tank is way too old to be in use with the U.S.

Yeah, I'm curious why if they had access to a REAL in use tank in the pilot episode why they couldn't manage it in this season. Just sloppy really.

It's kinda silly to me to get kinda irked about it but I got really taken out of the moment when the mud zombies had what looked like fresh blood on them and how fast people look like zombies. You wouldn't have sunken eyes right away.

I assume they rent the things so they probably went with what they could get. The tank in season one was actually a British Chieftain, so a better question would be what the hell is a British tank doing in downtown Atlanta.

I had 2 takes on this weeks episode -

1) FINALLY some action, FINALLY some plot developments - I was actually a little excited!
2) But I also thought all this seemed like a shot of desperation and a little forced since the next episode is the 'mid-season finale'

I also have to admit that it was a little predictable than I would have expected...it makes me wonder if the same thing is going to happen here as happened at the last showdown...gov going to loose, he'll kill most everyone on his own team out of rage, and any survivors will join the prison group...and the plot stands still.

...oh but lets not forget about Carol...she'll probably swoop in, kill the governor, redeem herself and save the day...

I think it was actually an American M60 dressed up to look like an M1 and not a Chieftain, the turrets are pretty different.

My guess is that the tank that they have now is the same tank just with the dressing on the turret removed and with a fresh coat of paint because for something that almost certainly hasn't been washed in at least a good couple of years it's pretty clean looking.

As for being armed, it really doesn't matter, it's a tank. That thing will knock down the fence around the prison in no time and if they wanted to they could probably use it to break in to the prison proper and there's not a thing that Rick & gang could do to stop it, esp. if they're smart and are operating buttoned down. I think that the only advantage that they have is that the tank is serious overkill and I think that it might be a hard sell for the Governor telling his people to take the prison because of its nice fences and walls when he goes about knocking down both the fences and walls that make the prison so appealing in the first place.

great points, things seem to be rolling towards the , direction it came from , but it is a slow season to be sure, I have a feeling some key members will disappear very soon.....just saying...LOL

Yeah it looked like a M60. It does matter if it's armed. You can approach and attack and unarmed tank, you can't do that as easily if it has functioning machine guns. I would also guess that the Governor's guys had more than one shoulder launched missile with them since they fired one at a tower. Of course that would be too easy so I'm sure the writers will say that was the only one they had.

I'm thinking that since the Gov. didn't immediately start shooting he wants the fences intact. If I was Rick I'd start telling the others about the Gov. and bring out some of the Woodbury people as proof.

To me its a little unusual to see a Patton M-60. You'd think the guy would be driving an Abrams in he was Nat Guard or Army Reserve. And where the heck would you get an M-60 anyhow?

one reason they wouldn't use the tank in the pilot episode is fuel. modern tanks require a convoy of fuel trucks to go any meaningful distance

wasnt there a tank at the other side of the prison, where the walls were knocked down or am I imagining it, as seen in the teaser end shot at the prior season finale.

No, there wasn't a tank on the other side of the prison.

there was a burnt out tank smashed through a wall, that's where Tyreese and his crew got in

The very first time we see the wall knocked down, I swear there was a tank there which was the justification for the wall and building being blasted. I cant find a cap of it but someone here should be able to get it.
