The Walking Dead Season 3

Oh no you said the "B" word. hope you dont get popped for it. Thats not a joke, it a sad fact.

I would like to see the next season go back to the zombies being more creepy / deadly / horror effective. They seem to just be a joke these last few seasons. Maybe have them get faster n stronger. More 28 days later style. Zombies are to be super strong. They use all the power they have compared to normal people. We only use maybe half our muscle power cause of the pain level n fear of breaking a arm / leg. That's why people call it Tard power cause the mental handicap dont stop either most times.

I totally agree with this guy. They totally should should get stronger and faster.

Except for the fact that their bodies are falling apart and they can't repair it since they can't actually absorb nutrients from their food.

I sincerely hope your post wasn't serious.

My rolleyes was not in disbelief at your 'theory' so much, as it was toward your repeated lack of sentence structure and now offensive reference to 'Tard Power'.

I now agree with moving out of Woodbury. I totally forgot they had the small army manning the walls 24 hours. But they seriously need to get someone to patch that hole in the wall. And fix all the fences and gates.

As for Carl, during that whole scene I thought, "That guy with the shotgun is going to do something stupid." He kept moving closer to Carl like he was going to try to disarm him or use his shotgun. So Carl did not make a bad move. Personally he should have told the guy to stop or he's a dead man.

This isn't Resident Evil and the T-virus ... Although I love me some Milla Jovovich! :love

The only thing the zombie have at this point is numbers. We need some herds. We've discussed to exhaustion their decay and the softness of their bones (strong enough to hold them up but squishy enough to punch through a skull bare knuckle).

I know that people want the zombies to be more of a threat but that really isn't part of the vision. The zombies are just the background to the new reality. It's more of a lord of the flies survivor tale. If you want more of a zombie threat, you'll probably be disappointed

Zombies are like hot chicks..they both sell on tv. I understand and love a good story, but I dont want a total soap opera in a horror setting. Throw a few better zombie attacks and surpises and less after school specials episodes.

No, I get a fear of being killed by a zombie again show. With a Classic story of Rick messing things up. Carol being a stone cold killer now ( i'm proud of you son - Shane) Plus mix in a how about a nice cup of Shut the Hell up Hershel! Can not forget about Glen's trying to be a family man. All this and more on " All my Zombies" I have hope for the new writer n team this time around.

The Zombie's on Game of Thrones are scary & more menacing than the walking dead. All they done so far is walk by and point to a dude. ok, one went crazy with a weapon so far too.

You have to remember that this is a television show. In a 1.5/2 hour movie, you don't have to worry about much character development or alot of story as most are canon fodder and the movie is essentially about one little adventure in this zombie apocalypse. You can't do that in a TV show because it would be boring as hell and predictable. What are we doing today? Running from zombies! Ok what are we doin tomorrow? Running from zombies but this time we're gonna ride bicycles instead of run!

You're basically saying that you want all the cast to be zombie fodder and don't want any development. Works well in movies that only last 1.5 hours but not on a TV show that has 14 one hour episodes.

Better Zombies...so you basically want no human interaction. Go play Dead Island, on single-player...

I have to agree with Monkey67 ... I want more Whedon-esque surprises. The show became very predictable and too much of a soap opera. The story should constantly move forward and evolve, but there needs to be real suspense and surprises. Also, the viewers need to know that any character can die at any time ... No one is too important to die.

I'm sure I'm not alone with my ire over the female characters, tokens and the one episode get to know then kill characters.

"The Walking Dead" doesn't refer to the zombies - it refers to the people. The premise of the storyline isn't "what happens when zombies take over the planet," it's more along the lines of "how do people work when society comes crashing down around them."

At some point, when you've been surrounded by the threat of the undead for a long time, they become more like wild animals than real threats. They're slow moving, stupid creatures - you can be caught unaware, or you can be overrun by a horde of them, but fast, intelligent humans that want what you have are the greater threat, by far.

In that way, this show is much more realistic than many other zombie movies/shows. And despite the fact that it has writing and pacing issues, that's why it remains interesting, where a weekly show about battling zombies for an hour would get old quickly.

I don't disagree with your point AdamNightmare, but Rick's group has done a pretty poor job of surviving. Sure they've become a more cohesive group and are a bit "battle hardened", however they still make stupid decisions, don't learn from past mistakes, and spend way too much time debating relatively simple things.

This is something media seems to typically get wrong and you don't have to be military to understand that when the SHTF you either put the petty stuff aside or die. Woodbury under the rule of the Gov is closer to what I'd expect.

Does this make for boring TV? Maybe ... There's some good examples of how to do it where main characters battle monsters every episode plus maintain a storyline. Buffy ran for 7 seasons, Angel for 5 seasons, 8 Resident Evil movies (2 in CGI), Star Trek (all iterations) for 29 seasons and 12 movies, etc ...

If anything, their inability to make good decisions as a collective makes it more realistic to me. People are pretty terrible at learning from their mistakes, especially in a group environment. They're great at debating stupid and irrelevant things ad nauseum, though.

After almost two years together, it makes sense that the terror of imminent demise would temper, and you'd go back to the day to day drama that is common for people who are not under constant threat of death - which, as I said, you would not be once you figure out how to handle the zombie threat.

As boring as the Farm season was, it seemed to be much more in line with the reality of a post-ZApocalypse world - sometimes you get in trouble and the crap hits the fan, but most of the time you're just treading water, trying to feel as normal as possible.

If anything, I think the show suffers from an unrealistic level of contrived drama, where the characters make stupid decisions that are out of character because they need to find something to complicate things. If those mistakes were more in-line with the characters themselves, I would have less of an issue with it than I would with a constant-zombie-threat/zombie-kill-of-the-week type show.

I'm with ya, Sir Angus.

Its to a point that we need to be surpised by a mass group of zombies that slip into a section that people are staying in. Something to put the horror back into a show. I want to think that someone can die at any moment. made them get faster, stronger, smarter. The story line was boring, dragged on forever on the same stuff. Speed up the tempo and have better zombie events. If not, then put the show on nbc at 2pm right after a normal soap opera.

How about add Zombie animals?? i mean if the virus that turns people is air borne. why hasnt it changed animals as well?? go deal with a pack of zombie wolfs / wild dogs. Dingo ate your baby...Rick.

Woodbury under the rule of the Gov is closer to what I'd expect.

The Governor was a tool...He assumed leadership, but lacked any understanding of tactics, was unsocial, and made wildly erratic decisions that harmed others. Anyone that came into his area was killed because they posed a threat, not to his town, but to his misconceived idea of leadership.

Rick removed himself from the group when he lost it and stands by his convictions. I'd rather have that than a false sense of security.

Monkey67...you know this is based off a comic??? If there are no zombie animals or smart/strong zombies in the comic...do you honestly think they would change the formula for the show?

Yeah, but the average Woodburian didn't know that he was a psychotic power-hungry control freak. They saw the face he showed Andrea when she first arrived: charming, calm and determined to protect 'his people' from the dangers of their new world.

I understand that. But even a few outsiders smelled something fishy within a few days of being there.

People as a whole are kind of dumb... While a person can be smart.

This is a desperate group of people in desperate times. That makes them more than willing to follow any voice that offers them hope. People are used to being led... Even if that leadership is less than perfect. Power is an illusion, granted by the people that are led. Examples of this can be seen throughout history... The most obvious being nazi germany. The people were so desperate for hope, that they followed a madman.

The governor is a natural leader, in that he's charming, well spoken, confident and hungry for that power. He made the people feel safe, and like he was only out for their best interest.

But of course, after the attack on Woodbury, and the loss of his eye and "daughter," his veneer began to crack, and more people started to see him for what he was.

In the end, the people decided they wouldn't follow him anymore... And he'd lost his power; and in one final act, to prove that he still had power over their lives, he shot all of them.
